Willcocks Continues to Build

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Phillip Willcocks is a dangerous man with chips so his tablemates will probably not be too thrilled to see the prominent Kiwi find a recent double up.

Dylan Honeyman opened with a raise to 18,000 before Willcocks moved all in on the button for his last 92,000. Action folded back to Honeyman who instantly called with {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and the race was on with Willcocks’ {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

The flop was {10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} to see Willcocks flop a set, leaving Honeyman looking for a queen for a straight. The {k-Spades} didn’t change anything on the turn, while the {j-Spades} filled up Willcocks to see him double to over 200,000. Honeyman is still one of the big stacks with 770,000 in chips.

Edwards Lucky Through Aston

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Luke Edwards has just got lucky to double through Anthony Aston.

Edwards was all in for 115,000 on the button holding {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}. Aston, in the big blind, had {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.

The {7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} board gave Edwards the straight, seeing him move up well over 200,000. Aston, however, was left with 90,000 – just over 10 big blind. It's not too bad that he was able to sustain a hit like this considering he started the day as one of the short stacks,

Willcocks Back Over Six Figures

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Phillip Willcocks started the day off poorly, but is now back over six figures.

Willcocks moved all in for 46,000 from under the gun holding {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The action folded around to Cameron Bryce in the small blind and he flat-called with {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}.

It was looking like it was about to be all over for Willcocks, but alas, the {8-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} board gave him a straight and the double up.

Kang Gone in 31st

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

After the previous crippling hand, Hyunku Kang committed his last chips from the big blind on a flop of {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Kang had called preflop with {j-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and pushed his last 43,000 in the middle on the flop, but it wasn’t enough to shake Bryce Cameron from his {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and river the {5-Spades} to leave Cameron’s king-high better Kang’s jack-high to eliminate Kang in 31st place.

Ge Gone in 32nd

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Another player has been eliminated in 32nd place.

This time it was Yanji Ge who found himself on the rail.

Ge had his short stack all in preflop holding {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and had ran into the {a-Clubs}{A-Hearts} of Shao Liu.

The {7-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} brought nothing but despair to Ge’s tournament life and that was that.

Ge picks up $5,150.

Herz Next One Home

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The tournament of Scott Herz has come to an end in 33rd place.

He was a little unlucky after getting his last 68,000 chips in preflop with {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} against Luke Spano’s {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

The flop was a safe {7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for Herz but the {a-Spades} on the turn was not the card he wanted to see. Herz was calling for a jack but it didn’t arrive as the {6-Diamonds} completed the board.

Herz is out as Spano climbs to a healthy 550,000.

Mullen Doubles, Willcocks Short

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Nicholas Mullen has just doubled up

Mullen was on the button holding {k-Clubs}{5-Spades} and was at risk against Phillip Willcocks in the blinds with {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Mullen slammed the table in delight when the dealer had spread out a {5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} board.

Willcocks is now short stacked.

Kang Leaves Himself For Dead

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Dylan Honeyman is our new chip leader!

He scooped up a massive pot against Hyunko Kang.

We picked up the action on the turn of a {4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{a-Clubs} board, with Kang having checked to Honeyman, who bet 96,000. Back on Kang and he check-raised to a very large 196,000. Honeyman took a few moments before moving all in. Honeyman easily had Kang covered as Kang had left himself with just 70,000 after that check-raise. Kang obviously wasn't happy with the hand he held, because he decided he would fold and leave himself very short stacked!

Honeyman is up around 800,000.
