Bad Beat Story for Mazumdar

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Akash Mazumdar has just got very unlucky to finish in 26th place.

We heard the dealer cry “all in and call” and made our way to Table 25 to find Mazumdar in a three-way all in with monster stack Vincent Chua and fellow short stack Paul Wilcock.

Mazumdar: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Wilcock: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Chua: {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}

Mazumdar had his opponents dominated and was looking good to triple up.

Flop: {8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

“There’s a nine!” Chua cried. “And another one please!”

Turn: {j-Spades}

“Yes!” screamed Chua as he was looking to eliminate two players.

Mazumdar just looked disgusted.

River: {10-Hearts}

“Yes!” yelled Wilcock has he had hit his straight to survive.

Mazumdar, meanwhile, exited with a bad beat story.

Brabin Lucky To Survive

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Luke Brabin has just survived an all-in with a very fortunate fall of the river card. Preflop, Edison Nguyen opened with a raise to 20,000 before Brabin popped it up to 54,000. Back on Nguyen and he moved all in with Brabin snapping it off.

Nguyen showed {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} and Brabin dropped his head in dismay as he showed a dominated {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. Both players were pretty even in chips, but the board of {3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} brought both players a wheel straight for a chopped pot!

Brabin high-fived his rail as he avoided disaster to remain in contention with about 250,000 chips.

Walsh Gone And Down to Three Tables

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

One more player has been eliminated and with that we are down to 27 players – the final three tables.

The latest player to hit the rail was Damien Walsh. He was short stacked and all in preflop holding {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and had to come up against the {a-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} of Gabriel Messo.

The {2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts} board was no help and so Walsh exited with $5,150.

Messo is now up around 800,000 in chips.

Ramsden Sent Home in 29th

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Jacque Ramsden is out in 29th place after a devastating cooler of a flop. Ramsden held {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and was happy to commit his stack of around 200,000 on the {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop holding top pair, top kicker, but Michael Caruana wasn’t going anywhere with his {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for bottom set.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and river the {7-Clubs} to see Caruana jump to 500,000 in chips as Ramsden was sent to the rail.
