Big Hit To Willcocks

Level 11 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

Phil Willcocks has just taken a hit to his stack after the fall of the cards went against him. In a battle of the blinds, the small blind player moved all in for his last 37,400 to give Willcocks a decision with his {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. After a little thought, Willcocks splashed out the call and was ahead of his opponent’s {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

However the live cards connected on the board of {3-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} to double up the short stack and reduce Willcocks to around 60,000.

Stacks During Third Level of the Day

Level 11 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

Here are some approximate chip stacks of players during the third level of Day 2.

Bryan Huang is still dominating on more than 300,000. Dennis Huntly and Edison Nguyen have been a couple of the biggest movers as they are now factoring in the chip leader race. The average stack with around 115 players remaining is just over 85,000.

Aston Runs Into Aces

Level 11 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

Anthony Aston has just ran his {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} into Paul Richards' {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}.

All the chips went in preflop and the board ran out {3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} to see Aston lose a bunch of chips.

Luckily Aston could sustain the hit as he still has a fairly healthy 70,000.

Aston has made three ANZPT final tables in his career, including finishing 8th in the 2012 ANZPT Melbourne Main Event.

Jackie Can't Run Up A Stack

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Jackie Glazier didn't have a good start to the day and hasn't been able to run up her short stack.

Glazier was down to 11,100 when she was all in preflop holding {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} against Phillip Wilcocks with {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

The {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} board gave Glazier a straight draw on the flop, but ultimately she couldn't get there and is now on the rail.

Shivan Finds the Double

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Shivan Abdine was recently all in preflop holding {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and was faced with just {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}.

The board ran out a safe {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Spades} for Abdine and with that he had spiked the double.

Just a couple of weeks ago Abdine finished 3rd in the Sydney Champs $5,000 buy-in event. Abdine has posted just under $300,000 in lifetime tournament winnings, but none of that amount has come from cashing in an ANZPT Main Event,
