Rosen Doubles Through Sabat

Rosen thanks Sabat for the double!
Rosen thanks Sabat for the double!
Edward Sabat opened with a raise to 40,000 and the action folded to Mikael Rosen in the big blind, who moved all in for an additional 190,000. Sabat thought before making the call.

Sabat: {Q-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Rosen: {J-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The flop fell {J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} to sighs from Sabat's rail, as Rosen spiked the three-outer to pair up.

The turn was the {9-Spades} giving Sabat outs to the straight, but the river bricked the {2-Diamonds} and Rosen doubled through to about 480,000.

Take Your Seats Please

Tournament Director Danny McDonagh has just instructed all spectators in the gallery that they must remain in their seats at all times. "And not on the backs of them," McDonagh added. "They'll break."

Sabat Can't Stop the Chuck Truck

Edward Sabat has been active in the last hour, but not necessarily in a good way. Sabat, sitting in the small blind, was the only caller of Charles Chua's preflop raise to 40,000. When the flop was all small, {7-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {2-Spades}, Sabat led into Chua for 60,000. It didn't take Chua long to raise to 160,000. Sabat seemed dejected and resigned to folding as he shipped his cards into the muck.

Turn Off Your Phones!

Charles Chua has been busy using his phone in-between hands, and has usually been stepping away from the table to do so. However tournament director Danny McDonagh has just issued a final warning to Chua and the rest of the table that use of a mobile phone at the table is not permitted and next time it will result in a penalty.

Play the Board!

Edward Sabat limped from the button and Tian Chen raised it up an additional 40,000 from the small blind. Kuok Wai Will Cheong folded the big blind and Sabat made the call.

The flop was an interesting {2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Chen checked to Sabat who fired out 25,000. Chen made the call.

The {3-Spades} fell on the turn and both players checked. The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Chen checked to Sabat who fired out 45,000. Chen called and both players played the straight on board. Chop it up!

Javed Abrahams Eliminated in 8th Place ($30,797)

Javed Abrahams - 8th Place
Javed Abrahams - 8th Place
Javed Abrahams was getting short on chips. Down to just ten big blinds, he open-shoved from late position with {Q-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} and was called by Charles Chua on the button, who opened {8-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}. The flop missed Abrahams but gave him lots of options -- it came {A-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {j-Diamonds}. The turn was a face card, but the {J-Spades} was not a face card that helped Abrahams. He did pick up a potentially counterfeiting two-pair draw. But the {4-Spades} that fell on the river was not the second pair on board that would stave off elimination for Abrahams. He has been eliminated from the tournament and will collect $30,797 for a spirited run to eighth place.

Huang Rivers Sabat for Monster Pot

Diwei Huang = Chip Leader
Diwei Huang = Chip Leader
Tian Chen limped in from under the gun and four others called along to see our first multi-way flop.

The flop landed {8-Clubs}{A-Spades}{4-Hearts} and the action checked to Chen who fired 40,000. Diwei Huang and Edward Sabat made the call.

The turn brought the {2-Spades} and Sabat led out with a strange feeler bet of 20,000. Chen called before Huang then raised it up to 120,000. Sabat made the call and Chen stepped aside.

The {5-Clubs} fell on the river and Sabat tossed out a minimum bet of 16,000. Huang announced another raise, making it a healthy 250,000 to go. Sabat stood from his chair, cut down his chips and tanked for several minutes before making a hesitant call.

Huang revealed {A-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for the rivered straight as Sabat cringed with his {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Huang takes down the biggest pot of the final table to jump to around 1.3 million as Sabat goes for a walk.
