Sabat Mixes It Up

The action folded to Edward Sabat on the button who decided to mix things up and limp into the pot. So Myung Sim folded in the small blind and Tian Chen checked his option in the big blind.

The flop came down {10-Diamonds}

and Chen led out with a bet of 15,000. Sabat then popped it up to 50,000 which forced a fold from Chen.

Finally, a Showdown

We have our second flop of the day and it has produced our first showdown. Jeppe Drivsholm made it 25,000 to go from middle position and was called by Edward Sabat, sitting in the small blind. Play proceeded cautiously after the {K-Spades}

flop. Both players checked to the {A-Clubs}

turn and checked again to the {3-Spades}

river. On the river, Sabat checked it to Drivsholm a third time. He fired out for a modest 15,000. After about 20 seconds of deliberation, Sabat called. Drivsholm showed {K-Hearts}

to take down the pot with a pair of kings.

Rosen Takes First Post-Flop Pot

Edward Sabat raised to 30,000 from early position and the action folded to Mikael Rosen on the button who made the call. Diwei Huang also called in the big blind and we finally see a flop!

Flop: {A-Spades}

Sabat led out with a small bet of 20,000. Rosen thought for a few moments before declaring a raise to 65,000. Huang folded and Sabat also laid his hand down to give Rosen the first post-flop pot of the day.

Charles Chua Takes First Two Pots

Charles Chua has drawn first blood at the final table, taking down two pots before the flop. On the first hand of the day, Mikael Rosen made a minimum raise from middle position to 20,000. When action folded to Chua in the cutoff, he reraised to 80,000. That raise was big enough to produce folds from the rest of the table.

On the second hand, Chua won the pot uncontested by putting in the first raise himself.

Tournament Director Danny McDonagh has introduced each of the remaining nine players to the assembled onlookers and they have taken their seats at the final table. After a quick photo op, APPT television hostess and former Miss Australia Erin McNaught called out the magic words "Shuffle up and deal!" and we are finally underway.

Interested Onlookers

The crowd seating here at the final table television studio area has already been filled in anticipation of the start of today's event. Interested onlookers include Lee Nelson, who has just come from his book signing session in the Grand Waldo poker room, and Ivan Tan who knows what these players are going through after he finished runner-up in this event last year.

Last Minute Preparations

As is usually the case with television productions, we are running a little behind schedule as the camera crews perform some last minute preparations to the stage and set before the players enter.

Seat 9: Charles Chua (Malaysia) - 617,000 chips

Charles Chua is well known in Australian poker circles; after living in Melbourne, he currently resides in Malaysia where he now embarks on a mission to earn a place in Asian poker history. After building a big stack on Day Two, Chua held his nerve and his stack on Day Three to enter today's final table with 617,000 chips. Chua has a major online tournament victory to his credit this year and should bring plenty of color and aggression to today's final table.
