Family Fun

For the first time today we saw a family pot when Hyoung Jin Nam limped the button and the blinds came along. The flop was {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and action checked to Nam who fired 30,000 to take it down.

Another Stone Bluff from Noh

Tae Jun Noh

The last fifteen minutes have seen Van Marcus and Tae Jun Noh going back and forth at each other, trying to land a decisive blow to cripple the other player. They were running close to even in chips when Marcus raised to 55,000 and Noh called.

On a flop of {9-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs}, Noh checked to Marcus, who bet 60000. Noh then check-raised to 160,000. Van asked how much Noh had behind his raise and was told the answer was 350,000. Van ultimately folded, causing Noh to show a stone bluff {3-Diamonds} {5-Spades}. Marcus claimed he only had ace-high but went for a walk after the hand was over.

Marcus Rebounds

Tae Jun Noh raised to 55,000 from the button, Van Marcus called in the small blind and Hyoung Jin Nam folded his big blind.

The flop came down {2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and Marcus checked to the preflop raisor in Noh who fired out 70,000. Marcus thought for a moment and again stared down his opponent intently before declaring he was all in! Noh quickly folded and Marcus takes a nice pot.

Wild Days Have Gone Away

The last several hands have been raised preflop and then checked all the way to the river. It's not that players aren't connecting with the board; in several cases they've flopped middle pair. It's just that the board have been extremely well connected, and the players have clearly become more cautious now that each pay jump is worth an extra $50,000.

Chop Chop

Tae Jun Noh raised to 40,000 from the small blind and Van Marcus made the call in the big blind.

The players checked down a board of {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. Noh showed {K-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a rivered pair of threes, and Marcus tabled {K-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for the very same hand! Chop it up!

Some Chips for Noh

Van Marcus has been rolling along for some time now, but there are bound to be a few bumps in the road. He limped in on the button and took a heads up flop with the big blind, Tae Jun Noh. Noh checked the {9-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {9-Spades} to Marcus, who bet 26,000. Noh called.

Both players checked the {7-Diamonds} turn and the {10-Clubs} river. At showdown, Noh tabled {8-Hearts} {7-Spades} for a full house, sevens full of nines. Marcus mucked.

Marcus Fires Back

Hyoung Jin Nam raised to 50,000 on the button, and Van Marcus made the call in the big blind.

The flop was {6-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Marcus checked to Nam who bet a minimum 20,000. Marcus then check-raised big to 220,000 and Nam quickly folded. Marcus collects the pot in another unusual hand.

Michael Chang Eliminated in 4th Place ($37,999)

Michael Chang - 4th Place
Michael Chang - 4th Place
The players remaining at the final table (with the exception of Van Marcus) have shown every willingness to gamble. That would explain how Hyoung Jin Nam and Michael Chang wound up all in preflop with {Q-Clubs} {J-Hearts} and {A-Spades} {9-Diamonds}, respectively. Nam started the action with a raise to 38,000. Chang reraised him to 141,000, leaving himself 205,000 behind. Nam tanked for a minute before moving all in. Chang didn't seem thrilled, but then called all in by knocking over all of his stacks of chips and splashing them into the middle.

The flop contained a jack but no ace, {3-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {3-Hearts}. When the turn and river came {5-Hearts} and {6-Diamonds}, Chang reported to the rail. He earns $37,999 for his 4th place finish.

Noh Doubles Through Nam

Tae Jun Noh back in contention!
Tae Jun Noh back in contention!
Tae Jun Noh opened with a 35,000 chip bet from under the gun. Hyoung Jin Nam made the call in the small blind and Michael Chang came along in the big blind.

The flop was {5-Hearts}{A-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and play was checked to Noh who made a continuation bet of 70,000. Nam made the call as Chang stepped aside.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Nam checked to Noh who quickly announced he was all in for 248,000. Nam normally acts very quickly, but he thought for a few moments before finally sliding his chips into the middle to make the call.

Nam: {7-Spades}{6-Spades}
Noh: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

Noh held top pair, top kicker for the lead as Nam was drawing with a pair and straight draw.

The river was dealt and revealed the {10-Diamonds}, just missing Nam's straight, and doubling up Noh to roughly 750,000 chips.
