Moneymaker in for a long day ahead
Much of the growth of poker in the last five years has been attributed to one man -- 2003 WSOP Champion Chris Moneymaker. The "Moneymaker Effect" is commonly used to describe the influence that his win as an amateur player had on the explosion of poker in the US and around the world.
Since that win, the Team PokerStars Pro has struggled to emulate that success so he would love nothing more than to put in a big showing here at the APPT Grand Final in Sydney.
However his late arrival and grumpy appearance at the table indicate that perhaps Moneymaker is a little under the weather. His head is constantly in his hands as he tries to set himself for a long day ahead.
