Han Back to Chipping Away

Fresh off doubling David Hilton up, Dong-bin Han is back to his successful formula, chipping away at his opponent.

Preflop, Hilton opened to 50,000 and Han called. The flop came {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{k-Spades} and Han check-called a 105,000 chip bet from Hilton.

Both players checked the {3-Hearts} turn and moved to the {6-Hearts} river. On the river Han bet 350,000 and Hilton folded.

David Hilton Doubles Up

It seemed only a matter of time before David Hilton wound up all in. We have been watching him be ground down by the relentless aggression of Dong-bin Han. It finally happened.

Hilton opened for 100,000, then shoved all in for about 1.2 million after Han re-raised to 400,000. Han tanked for about two minutes before announcing a call!

Hilton: {A-Hearts} {K-Spades}
Han: {K-Hearts} {9-Clubs}

Han's adventurous call left him in a bad spot, as his king-nine was dominated by Hilton's ace-king. Nobody improved on a board of {5-Hearts} {J-Spades} {J-Hearts} {6-Spades} {8-Diamonds}, allowing Hilton to double up to 2.4 million. He's back in the game.

Han Again

It seems like every pot of any signficance is going to Dong-bin Han. He and David Hilton checked an all-diamond flop, {2-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {k-Diamonds}. On the turn {9-Hearts}, Hilton checked again, then called a bet of 150,000 from Han. Both players checked the {5-Hearts} river, with Han showing down top pair, {K-Spades} {J-Clubs}, to take the pot.

Hilton Fires Back

Dong-bin Han has been controlling the pace of this heads-up match repeatedly betting at and raising David Hilton, especially before the flop. He has been three-betting Hilton relentlessly, with little pushback from Hilton. Hilton may have realized what's going on, because he opened a recent pot to 100,000, faced a re-raise to 335,000 from Han, and then fired back another 400,000 himself. That slowed down Han and induced a fold.
