Hilton Lays Down Set

David Hilton may wish he had another chance to replay his last hand. After his opponent checked a {10-Spades} {j-Clubs} {7-Hearts} flop, Hilton bet 8,000. His opponent check-raised to 20,000 and Hilton quickly called.

The turn fell {9-Spades}. Hilton's opponent checked and Hilton opted to check behind. Things got even stickier when the river fell {K-Spades} and Hilton's opponent bet 36,300. Hilton tanked for about two minutes and then folded {7-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} face up -- a set of sevens.

Ty Gets In Trouble With Top Pair Top Kicker

On a flop of {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} Ty Nguyen led out 15,000 and was raised to 35,000 by Dong-bin Han. Nguyen tanked for a while before deciding that Han didn't really have a hand, and so moved his stack in.

It was a bad read. Han instantly snap called creating a 250,000 chip pot. By far the biggest of the tournament, so far.

Han: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Nguyen: {A-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

"Oh crap," said Nguyen befre Han's hand had even been revealed.

He wasn't able to pull of a miracle with the turn {9-Diamonds} and river {8-Hearts} sending him off to the rail.

Han is the new chipleader with 340,000.

Johnny Hanes Penalises Himself

Johnny Hanes has come up with a unique method for combatting tilt.

Having lost a frustrating hand, Hanes asked Danny McDonagh to impose a one hand penalty on him, so that he could go for a walk. The tournament director obliged sending him on a one hand penalty.

"Not yet," said Hanes. "It's my button".

"Ok," said McDonagh "Pick a hand before its your button next".

Hanes pointed at one of the players at his table. "On his button".

At that point McDonagh told the dealer that Hanes would be self-excluded from that hand.

A Chip Leader Finally Emerges!

It took two big hands dealt at the same time to finally carve out a true chip leader. His name is John "Jojo" Tech. Tech had been cruising along with a healthy, above-average stack of about 135,000. Then he was dealt pocket aces at the same time as Roger Spets was dealt pocket queens. All the chips were soon in the middle, with the board blanking out to secure the victory for Tech.

He leads the field with 245,000 chips.

Lica Sever Marian Out

Lica Sever Marian has been eliminated. After already losing half of his stack after the break, Marian went out after pushing {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and getting a call from David Hilton with {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

The flop was {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and the river was the {8-Spades} to complete the board, and a set for Hilton.

Hilton moves up to 220,000 and Lica Sever Marian hits the exit.
