Vandersluis Vexed By River Bet

On a {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop, Philip Dorrington in the small blind led out for 4,500. Roy Vandersluis bumped it up to 9,000.

The {4-Spades} turn card prompted a check from both players.

When the {8-Clubs} fell on the river, Dorrington tossed out three yellow, 5K chips sending Vandersluis into the tank. Dorrington seemed to egg-on the veteran, telling him "I know you're afraid I'll show you a bluff." Finally, Vandersluis folded and Dorrington sloppily mucked, allowing the {a-Clubs} being revealed.

Vandersluis was left with about 20,000 after the hand and Dorrington up to about 40,000.

Ali the Reporter

Ali Khalil must want a job reporting for PokerNews.com. He typed a recent hand into a notepad on his phone and handed it to us. Here's what happened. This happened in the first level.
