Tony Hachem Limps In

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Tony Hachem being interviewed while on crutches . . . poor kid!

PokerStars Team Australia Pro Tony Hachem has just limped into the tournament.

When we say limped . . . we literally mean limped!

A few weeks ago, Hachem had a major operation on his left ankle as a result of injuries he had sustained over the past few years (before he hit the poker circuit full time) playing Australian Rules Football (AFL) and other sports.

The operation was a success according to his doctors, and although he spent the last two weeks recovery at home, his surgeon has cleared him to wear an ankle break for the next few weeks. Consequently, his willingness and devotion to Australian poker, saw him make the trip up to Sydney to participate in the main event.

Whether he has crutches, an ankle brace or a bucketload of pain medicine in his system, Hachem is here to play!

Forrester Felts Two

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

On a flop of {10-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} we found two players all in against Barry Forrester.

Forrester: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Opponent: {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

We aren't exactly sure how the betting action fell, but after the turn and river landed the {5-Hearts} and {6-Hearts}, Forrester eliminated two players and climbed to roughly 90,000 in chips!

Kashyap Capped

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
Nauv Kashyap
Nauv Kashyap

One player raised to 700 from early position and Nauv Kashyap reraised to 1,900 from middle position. The button called and the original raiser called.

The three players took the flop of {K-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and the first player fired 2,500. Kashyap called and the button folded.

The {A-Hearts} hit the turn and after the first player fired 6,000, Kashyap moved all in for about 12,000. His opponent called with the {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for bottom set. Kashyap held the {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} for top two pair.

The river completed the board with the {5-Spades} and that was the end of the road for Kashyap.

Mo' Money, Mo' Problems

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Team PokerStars Pro and 2003 WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker checked the flop of {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} to his opponent with 3,700 in the pot. His opponent fired 2,500 before Moneymaker raised to 6,000. The player made the call and the turn brought the {9-Hearts}. Moneymaker fired 6,500 from his remaining 11,000. His opponent raised to put him all in and Moneymaker quickly made the call.

Moneymaker: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Opponent: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

Moneymaker's made straight with flush redraw had his opponent drawing dead. The river completed the board with the {2-Clubs} and improved Moneymaker to a flush just for the heck of it. Moneymaker doubled to 37,700.

PokerStars Team Australia Pro Joe Hachem entered the pot with a raise to 550 and Danny Leaoasavaii who made the call from the small blind.

Both players checked the {K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop to see the {2-Spades} land on the turn and Hachem fire out 800.

Leaoasavaii made the call, and when the {8-Hearts} landed on the river, he check-called a 1,900-chip bet from Hachem.

Hachem tabled his {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} to prompt a muck from Leaoasavaii as he slipped to 27,000 while Hachem climbed to 32,000 in chips.
