Tan Flops Nuts, Marvanek Crippled

Ivan Tan has just found a massive double through Michael Marvanek.

Tan held {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} with the final board spread {6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} with Marvanek's cards already mucked.

With that pot, Tan doubled through to 70,000 while Marvanek was left crippled with just 600 chips.

Marvanek however managed to see the last of his chips enter the pot the following hand - and through some luck - turned that 600 into 2,475.

Maklouf Runs Into Broadway

John Maklouf
John Maklouf

With a pot of around 55,000 developing on a board of {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, both Kim Gap Young and John Maklouf checked it through to see the {j-Hearts} land on the river.

Young fired out 30,000 and Maklouf smooth-called tabling his {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}.

Unfortunately for Maklouf, Young would table his {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for Broadway to send Maklouf rocketing down to 2,400 and Young upwards to 135,000 in chips.

Cloudy Day for Samson

Sunshine Samson
Sunshine Samson

The beautiful Sunshine Samson has just been eliminated from the tournament.

Speaking to tablemate Tony Hachem, he detailed to us that she firstly lost the majority of her chips with {A-}{K-} against {K-}{K-} before moving roughly the last of her 16,000 into the middle.

She found a caller, but wasn't in great shape with her {5-}{5-} trailing the {10-}{10-} of her opponent.

The board landed all rags, but Samson was unable to connect, and consequently found herself on the rail.

Pesos, Queens and a Dealer Tip!

An interesting hand has just played out on table 6.

Michael Marvanek - over the course of the last few hands - told the dealer that if he gets a double, he would pay her a PHP2,000 tip.

While sitting in the big blind and Ivan Tan contemplating a decision from the button, Marvanek told him that he would give him PHP 100 not to raise his blinds with junk. Tan mucked, but Ropati Toleafoa limped in from the small blind before Marvanek made it 2,000 to go.

Toleafoa called before checking the {J-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop as Marvanek fired out a continuation bet of 2,500.

"Don't just call, go all in!" uttered Marvanek in the direction of Toleafoa, and with that, Toleafoa obliged by moving all in as Marvanek instantly made the call.

Toleafoa: {A-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Marvanek: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The turn of the {8-Hearts} changed little, and when the river blanked out, Toleafoa exited as Marvanek climbed over the 50,000-chip mark.

"You better tip her now!" stated Tan.

"But I said a double, not just to stack someone!" added Marvanek.

But being the nice guy he is, Marvanek happily handed over the money to the dealer and she made her way to the adjacent table to continue her swing.

Wu Walks

Raymond Wu
Raymond Wu

After losing more than half his stack in the early goings, PokerStars Team Asia Pro Raymond Wu has bid farewell to the tournament.

On a {K-}{3-}{2-} board, Wu found himself all in holding {K-}{6-}, but would be up against a dominating {K-}{10-}.

No help arrived on the turn and river, and Wu was forced to make an early exit.

Stecker . . . Out

Mike Stecker
Mike Stecker

The short-stack revival of Mike Stecker was short-lived.

Committed his remaining few chips with {4-}{4-}, he was called by an opponent and his {10-}{7-}.

Unfortunately for Stecker, a {10-} on the river would be enough to see him make his way to the rail.

Small One for T-Hach

With two limps ahead of him, Tony Hachem bumped it to 3,200 from the button.

The blinds folded and both the limpers made the call only to check-fold to Hachem's 6,500-chip bet on the {9-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop.

As Hachem was pushed the pot, he flashed his {A-Clubs}.
