Rubie Getting Some Back

Brendon Rubie was down over half of his starting stack, but was able to pick up the following pot and chip back up a little bit to 17,000 or so. Here's how it happened.

The player under the gun raised to 600. Rubie flat-called on the button and the player in the big blind also called. The flop came down {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and action checked around.

After the {Q-Diamonds} fell on the turn, the big blind checked and the under-the-gun raiser bet 1,700. Rubie called and the big blind folded.

The {4-Spades} completed the board on the river. The first player checked. Rubie tossed out a yellow T5,000 chip, but it was unclear the actual amount that he bet. At any rate, his opponent folded and Rubie picked up the pot.
