Jackson Zheng Eliminated in 10th Place (NZD$7,720)
Jackson Zheng was looking primed to make it two APPT final tables in only two events after making the final nine of the Melbourne event only a few weeks ago. Matt Yates was the player who got in the way of making the impressive back-to-back final tables a reality.
The action started with Jackson Zheng opening to 10,000 from under the gun and receiving a call from Yates in the small blind.
The flop would see Yates check-call a bet of 8,500 from Zheng as the landed on the turn. A check from Yates would prompt Zheng to bet 24,000 at which point Yates moved all-in and Zheng snap-called.
Zheng tabled his for a turned two-pair while Yates held with just the one pair but a chance at making the straight.
"Jack!" Cried Zheng, jokingly calling for his own elimination.
Zheng may have spoke too soon as the landed on the river and sent Zheng home in 10th place with NZD$7,720 to show for it, while Yates skyrockets up the chipleader board.
And with that ladies and gentlemen, we have our final table. Stay tuned for the official final table chip counts and the Day 3 wrap!
