Yujung Choi Eliminated in 21st Place (HK$198,000)

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Yujung Choi - 21st place
Yujung Choi - 21st place

Yat Wai Cheng opened with a preflop raise from the cutoff and Yujung Choi defended her big blind.

Choi would then commit chips on each street of the {J-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades} board before calling all in for her last 66,500 on the river when Cheng bet 100,000.

Cheng tabled his {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a rivered straight, and Choi mucked her hand and headed to the rail in 21st place as Cheng moved to 670,000 in chips.

Naoya Kihara Eliminated in 22nd Place (HK$198,000)

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Naoya Kihara - 22nd Place
Naoya Kihara - 22nd Place

PokerStars was represented by two pros at the start of the day in Team Online's Randy Lew and Naoya Kihara, but the latter has just fallen.

It happened when Aidan Tam opened for 8,000 from the cutoff and Kihara three-bet jammed for 49,000 from the button. The blind folded and Tam made a quick call.

Tam: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Kihara: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Kihara's face seemed to indicate that he knew his number had been called, and he seemed resigned to his fate after the {5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop failed to deliver him options. The {4-Hearts} turn meant he would need to catch a queen on the river to survive, but it wasn't in the cards as the useless {9-Spades} peeled off.

25K is the Price of Poker

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Andrew Lam raised on the button only to have Yifan Zheng three-bet to 25,000 from the small blind. Lam made the call and it was heads-up action to the {5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} flop. Zheng bet 25,000, Lam called, and then both players checked the {4-Spades} turn.

When the {J-Spades} completed the board on the river, Zheng bet another 25,000 and got paid off after Lam made the call. Zheng tabled the {10-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Lam simply mucked.

Jim Sue Pan - 23rd place

Jim Sue Pan opened to 8,500 only to have Jonathan Depa three-bet to 19,500 next to act. The action returned to Pan and he moved all in for roughly 110,000 with Depa instantly calling.

Pan: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Depa: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} to see Pan exit in 23rd place as Depa soars to 735,000 in chips.

Lam Gets Lucky to Double Through Chan

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

A preflop raising war saw Andrew Lam, who was on the button, get his stack of over 200,000 all in preflop holding the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Unfortunately for him, Peter Ping San Chan had him at risk with the {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} in the big blind. Lam was looking for some help, most commonly in the form of an ace, and that's just what he got on the {8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{a-Hearts} flop.

Chan seemed frustrated, and he could do nothing but watch helplessly as the {A-Spades} appeared on the turn followed by the {5-Diamonds} on the river. Ship the big double to Lam, who qualified for this event on PokerStars.

Queens vs. Jacks

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

After Terry Fan had opened for 8,000, Yoshitaka Okawa three-bet to 26,000 from the button. The small blind folded, and then Ro Woong Park opted for a four-bet to 69,000 from the big. Fan got out of the way, Okawa moved all in for 143,000, and Park made the call.

Park: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Okawa: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

It was a bit of a cooler for Park as he'd run his big pocket pair into an even bigger one. The best hand held as the board ran out {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Okawa shipped the double.

Full House for Peng

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Yoshitaka Okawa opened with a raise under the gun and Cheryl Peng called to see a {J-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} flop fall. Peng check-called 9,500 as the {Q-Hearts} landed on the turn and Okawa bet out 12,500.

Peng again check-called before the river of the {3-Diamonds} saw her lead for 56,500. After some hesitation, Okawa made the call tabling his {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, but unfortunately for him, Peng would reveal her {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for a full house.

Stephane Blouin Eliminated in 24th Place (HK$198,000)

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Stephane Blouin - 24th place
Stephane Blouin - 24th place

"All in and a call," we heard a dealer yell. By the time we made our way over, the cards were already tabled between Stephane Blouin and Devan Tang on a board reading {10-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

Tang: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Blouin: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

We're not sure when the money went it, but we do know that Blouin's day came to an early finish when the {4-Spades} blanked on the river.

Edward Yam Eliminated in 25th Place (HK$198,000)

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Edward Yum - 25th place
Edward Yum - 25th place

Edward Yam opened with a raise only to have Yoshitaka Okawa three-bet the big blind to 18,000. Yam made the call as the dealer spread a {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop and Okawa continued for 22,000. Yam moved all in for roughly 78,000 and Okawa made the call.

Yam: {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Okawa: {J-Hearts}{9-Spades}

With Yam in the lead, the {J-Clubs} on the turn would now see him needing to spike a king or seven to stay alive. Unfortunately for the Hong Kong player, the river landed the {3-Hearts} and Yam was sent to the rail in 25th place for a HK$198,000 payday.
