Fireworks on Table 8

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Hideki Izutsu
Hideki Izutsu

Details of the first hand relayed by Jamie Lee:

In a battle of the blinds, Daisuke Ogita and Hideki Izutsu clashed when the former four-bet a {9-}{3-}{2-Hearts} flop and jammed the turn with a blank came. Ogita showed {9-Spades}{7-Spades} and izutsu had {9-}{4-}. The {a-Hearts} river ensured that the kicker played and Ogita doubled.

Right after, the fireworks continued. On the three-way flop of {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, action checked to Ogita on the button and he bet 3,000. Huahuan Feng check-raised to 8,000 in the big blind and Oleg Titov check-reraised to 19,000 in early position. Ogita called and Feng now reraised to 38,000. Titov folded and Ogita came along.

Feng bet the {k-Diamonds} turn for 35,000 to pick up a call and jammed the {a-Clubs} river for effectively 41,000 to force a fold from Ogita. He flashed the {4-Hearts} and said in table chat he had pocket fours.

Fast forward one hand, Wayne Heung raised to 2,000 and Ogita three-bet to 10,000. Izutsu called all in for fewer than that and Heung folded.

Hideki Izutsu: {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Daisuke Ogita: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The board came {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Izutsu busted for a second time today.

Mo Gets Some Chips Back

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Yongwei Mo
Yongwei Mo

Yongwei Mo had dropped back to starting stack and just picked up some chips in a pot against Irshat Shaykhov. The latter faced a raise by Mo in early position and a call by the small blind to three-bet out of the big blind.

Only Mo called the 6,900 and they checked the {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop and the {j-Hearts} turn. Shaykhov check-called a bet of 5,000 on the {5-Diamonds} river and mucked an {a-Clubs} when Mo flashed {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} as the winning hand.

Takahashi Doubles Twice

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Keiji Takahashi three-bet shoved out of the small blind with the {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and got there against {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} to double his short stack. He would double again, this time with {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} against the {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds} of Kazuhiko Yotsushika on a board of {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. For Yotsushika on his second bullet, that meant 18,000 chips remaining and he four-bet jammed ace-queen into kings to bust a second time.

Danny Tang has also busted and will likely re-enter, while Yasreel Praveen Doddaiavar leads the table of Takahashi with three times the starting stack.

Siow Doubles Through Chen

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

There was a loud uproar over on table seven when Li Chen jammed with queen-high into Graeme Siow and the latter called with seven-high for the last 38,200. Let's be clear, though, both players were suited and this is a re-entry tournament.

Graeme Siow: {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Li Chen: {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The table started cheering when Siow picked up a gutshot on the {q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop. He paired up on the {6-Spades} turn to get even more outs and got there on the {4-Hearts} river, as everyone on the table burst out in laughter. "It's re-entry!" Siow added and Chen was left with half the starting stack and a dry smile on the face.
