The "King of Flips" Strikes Again

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ceesvin Abdulla ended up all-in and at risk for 47,000 before the flop and he was up against Jean-Robert Autran in the following showdown.

Ceesvin Abdulla: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Jean-Robert Autran: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Thanks to a board of {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades}, the pocket pair prevailed and Abdulla doubled once again.

"You are the king of flips," Phuong Ngoc Nguyen chimed in.

Feng Scores a Knockout

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

A short stack from Singapore was all in for the last 11,500 and earned a call from Marc Joseph and Lars Madsen, the latter of which was on the button. Zhao Feng then pushed all-in from the small blind for 63,500 and Joseph folded. Madsen asked for a count and eventually let go, too.

Short stack: {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Zhao Feng: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The dominated ace gained some equity until the {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} turn but the {8-Clubs} river sent the chips over to Feng.

Fu Loses Two in a Row; Sent to the Rail

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Minxuan Fu paid off a bet worth 22,000 by Hoa Thinh Nguyen on the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} river and then mucked when he was shown the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

Shortly after he got it in with {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} against the {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} of Nevan Chang. The {q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} board missed both players and Chang doubled for 27,500. Fu was left very short and bowed out a few hands later.

Life Is Good for Garberg

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

"Your second double-up since you got here," Marc Joseph sighed as he shipped over a double up to Markus Garberg. The latter replied "yeah, I am playing and drinking," Garberg said with a smile on the face.

The {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} of Garberg had gotten there versus {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} thanks to a {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{q-Spades}{a-Spades} runout.

Assorted Counts in the Field

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Garberg Flips Well for a Double

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The streak of pocket sevens getting involved into all-in showdowns apparently continued once more. Markus Garberg was up against {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and flipped holding the {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}.

The {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop gave Garberg broadway, which then made the {2-Clubs} turn and {4-Hearts} river a formality.

Go Big Or Go Home Backfires for Kanjani

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Rajeev Kanjani
Rajeev Kanjani

Rajeev Kanjani four-bet jammed for what appeared to be some 45 big blinds and Tzai Wei Phua beat him into the pot with the covering stack.

Rajeev Kanjani: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Tzai Wei Phua: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

"I want to have a big stack or play again on Day 1b," Kanjani justified the move. The rail from Singapore in fact shouted for a seven after that including Phua but the {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Spades} board sent Kanjani to the rail. It didn't take long for Ji Jun Xu to depart from the very same table shortly after.

Down to Four Tables in a Hurry

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Chip leader Nam Hyung Kim knocked out another short stack and Jose Colada vanished, as did two other players in a matter of minutes. The next to fall was then Pete Chen when he got the last 9,500 in from the small blind. He was min-raised by Yu Chung "Nevan" Chang before Takuya Shimabukuro isolated successfully with a shove for more than 50,000.

Pete Chen: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Takuya Shimabukuro: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The superior pair stayed ahead on a {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{q-Hearts} board as Shimabukuro made a straight. Moments later, Paul Newey was also eliminated and that brought the field down to the last 32 contenders.
