Garberg Strikes Again With New Trademark Hand

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Vincent Huang
Vincent Huang

Markus Garberg defended the big blind against a button raise by Vincent Huang and they headed to the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop after which they got it in with Huang at risk.

Vincent Huang: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Markus Garberg: {j-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

For the second orbit in a row, Garberg had hit with jack-seven while in the big blind and he remained ahead on the {a-Diamonds} turn. The {3-Diamonds} river only improved Garberg and Huang had to settle for 33rd place.

Triple Up for Lim With Quads

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Chhay Lem Lim
Chhay Lem Lim

Chhay Lem Lim was all-in for 106,000 preflop and looked up by Ido Aboudi from the next seat. Jonathan Sanborn then went all-in over the top for more than 330,000 and Aboudi folded.

Chhay Lem Lim: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Jonathan Sanborn: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

The {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop improved Lim to a set of kings and nothing changed with the {8-Clubs} turn. A cherry on top came with the {k-Diamonds} river which gave Lim quads.

Once Upon a Double Up for Zhong

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Jiazhi Zhong was left with ten blinds and got those in preflop against Quoc Huy Phan, who had chipped up to more than half a million not that long ago.

Jiazhi Zhong: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Quoc Huy Phan: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop gave Phan an inferior pair and gutshot but he failed to improve on the {2-Hearts} turn and {2-Spades} river, awarding a double to Zhong for 81,000.

Chan Loses It All in Two Hands

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Markus Garberg
Markus Garberg

A rough few minutes ended with the elimination of Chik Fatt Chan as he first doubled Jianguo Zhou and was then knocked out by Markus Garberg.

Zhou's {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} beat the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} of Chan on a {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} board.

Soon after that, Garberg defended the big blind and check-called a bet on the {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop before they got it in on the {7-Hearts} turn.

Chik Fatt Chan: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Markus Garberg: {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}

The {10-Hearts} river was a blank and the stacks were counted. Garberg had 229,000 at his disposal and that covered Chan by a handful of big blinds.

Three Eliminations in Quick Succession

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Thailand's Suparerk Totsaponisad rivered an inferior flush on the {q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{q-Clubs} board to see his hopes vanish with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} as Quoc Huy Phan tabled the {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} for the nut flush. Tzai Wei Phua then got it in with the {a-Spades}{k-Spades} versus Ido Aboudi's {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} and missed the entire board.

Moments later, a now short-stacked Brett Pullen also disappeared as he became the next victim in a rush of all-in showdown.

Finn Ove Penderak
Finn Ove Penderak

Finn Ove Penderak eventually got his chips in good before the flop with {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} and was up against the {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} of Quoc Dinh Nguyen.

However, the {a-Hearts} appeared right in the window and that spelled the end for the German who now calls Asia his home.

Soon after, Brett Pullen flipped with Dhanesh Chainani to create the following showdown.

Dhanesh Chainani: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Brett Pullen: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

Chainani took the lead on the {q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop and kept it throughout the {5-Clubs} turn as well as the {a-Hearts} river.

Natalie Teh: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}

The French rail gathered behind Autran who eventually got there on the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} board by making broadway to double for 102,000.

Nam Hyung Kim
Nam Hyung Kim

On a multi-way flop of {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}, only Mohamad Abbouchi called a bet by Nam Hyung Kim and then came along on the {j-Hearts} turn when Kim bet once more.

Kim then fired a final bet worth 110,000 on the {7-Clubs} river and Abbouchi called, then sighed when he was shown the {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a full house.
