Action Slows to a Crawl

With just ten players remaining, everyone is fighting for a spot at the TV final table and play has tightened up considerably.

The action has been so slow, in fact, that our last update, delivered by PokerNews field reporter Theo Rousalis said, "Change of dealer."

Bear with us . . . the end is near.

Steicke Doubles Through Benson

On a board showing {2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts}, Gary Benson checks to David Paul Steicke who bets out 16,000. Benson then makes it 32,000, putting Steicke to a decision for all of his chips. Short-stacked, it didn't turn out to be much of a decision at all for Steicke, who called almost immediately with pocket tens, good for top set. Benson tabled pocket fives and was drawing dead.

Steicke improved to 100,000 after the hand while Benson dropped to 36,000.

Jim "Sach" Sachinidis was eliminated from the tournament in 12th place just before the break by Gary Benson, who called Sach's 4,000 pre-flop all in from the big blind holding the {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}; Sach tabled {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

The board filled out {8-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{J-Spades}{A-Spades} giving Benson trip aces, effectively eliminating Sach from the tournament just four spots away from the money.
