Hachem Takes a Hit

Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem
Yasuhiro Waki just took a chunk of chips from Joe Hachem's stack. According to Waki, Joe raised pre-flop holding {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Waki just called with the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}. The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Waki checked to Hachem who led out with a bet. Waki then pushed all in over the top of Hachem's bet, and "the Champ," as Waki referred to him, made the call. Waki's flush held up and he doubled up to just over 20,000.

The hand left Joe with a little bit less than 10,000 in chips.

Nakano Eliminated by Juanda

A player in mid-position raised to 1,200 before the flop and Yoshio Nakano called from the cutoff. John Juanda was next to act from the button and he kicked it up to 5,000. The original bettor folded and Nakano moved all in for a total of 6,000; Juanda called.

Nakano: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}
Juanda: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board filled out {6-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Juanda's A-K high was good enough to take down the pot, effectively eliminating Nakano from the tournament in 38th place.
