Kaverman Badly Clubbed

Level 6 : 250/500, 50 ante

Jackie Glazier opened the action for 1,000 and saw Amit Roshanlal Jain raise to 2,500. Byron Kaverman in the big blind then decided to four bet to 5,300 and with Glazier getting out of the way Jain took a moment to call leaving himself just over 20,000 behind.

The flop came {j-Spades}{q-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Kaverman took less than a minute to check and Jain rather longer to move all in. Kaverman rolled his eyes at the predicament but made the call with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. Jain had a suited {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} too and was soon calling for, “Clubs.” as the {6-Clubs} hit the turn and finally the {j-Clubs} fell on the river to save his tournament life and put a dent in Kavermans stack.

News From Russia

Level 6 : 250/500, 50 ante

Ivan Soshnikov may be just below staring stack but he has been opening a few recent pots for 1,100.

Soshnikov was called by Denis Peganov in the big blind and they checked it down to the river of a board reading {10-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. With a board like that no one wanted to have a stab and Peganov’s {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} won the pot. Undeterred Soshkinov opened the next pot from under the gun for 1,100 but folded to a call and a raise.

In other news fellow Russian player Anatoly Filatov was last seen headed for the exit as he was all out of chips.

Cohen Takes a Hit

Level 6 : 250/500, 50 ante

Sam Cohen opened to 1,100 from the hijack only to have Sorel Mizzi cut out a three-bet to an unknown amount from the cutoff. The player on the button four-bet shipped for his last 13,400 and action folded back to Cohen. She five-bet all in over the top and Mizzi let go of his cards.

Cohen: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Opponent: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, missing Cohen's ace-king and keeping her opponent out in front. With this hit, Cohen's stack has been knocked down to about 16,500.

Small One For Buchanan

Level 6 : 250/500, 50 ante

Shawn Buchanan and Davidi Kitai saw a flop of {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts} in a raised pot. Both players checked and the {Q-Diamonds} dropped down on fourth street. Buchanan took this opportunity to fire 1,200 only to have Kitai stick around to see fifth street.

The river was the {7-Hearts} and Buchanan moved out one last bet of 2,500. Kitai thought for a bit before releasing his cards into the muck. Buchanan won the pot and now has about 48,000 to his name.

Turns Out Good For Buddiga Double

Level 6 : 250/500, 50 ante

Pratyush Buddiga got a little lucky in a recent hand to double up but when the money went in he did have the best of it against Joseph Cheong.

Buddiga check-called a bet of 3,500 on a flop of {4-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{8-Clubs} to see the turn fall the {10-Diamonds}. All the chips went in the middle and Buddiga’s {a-Spades}{10-Hearts} had overtaken Cheong’s {A-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} with a brick on the river changing nothing.
