Pogodin Busts Judges

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Darren Judges was all in and at risk before the flop for his last roughly 70,000 against Konstantin Pogodin. The hands were turned over to find the duo flipping for Judges' tournament life.

Judges: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Pogodin: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, pairing Pogodin's ace and eliciting a shrug from Judges. He found no help on the {5-Diamonds} turn or the {9-Diamonds} river, ensuring that he would be eliminated just shy of the money. Pogodin scored the elimination and increased his stack to 190,000.

Davies Done

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

All the chips went in the middle of a {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-} flop with Scott Davies holding {q-}{q-} and Jorn Walthaus the {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. The turn was a blank but a river {3-} gave Walthaus the straight to eliminate Davies

Flueckiger Rivered By Troyanovskiy

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Troyanovskiy opened from under the gun and got called by big blind Roger Flueckiger. We joined the action on the turn of a board reading {6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} with around 80,000 in the middle and both players checked.

The river card was the {7-Hearts} and Flueckiger quickly checked. Troyanovskiy took a few moments before betting 57,500. Flueckiger made the call but flung his cards away in frustration as Troyanovskiy showed his {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} rivered set.

Zhu Tests Mizzi

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Sorel Mizzi opened the action for 9,000 from the cut-off so button Amichai Barerand small blind Maxim Prokhorov came along for the ride. Yaxi Zhu was in the big blind and raised to 30,000.

Mizzi mused and raised her right back to 65,000 and Barerand and Prokhorov got out of the firing live. Zhu gave it several minutes thought before sliding out another raise making it 135,000. Mizzi threw in the towel and no flop was necessary for Zhu to claim a big pot.

Gu Eliminated by Tureniec

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

On a flop of {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, Michael Tureniec bet enough to put Huidong Gu all in. Gu thought for quite some time before calling all in for his tournament life.

Tureniec: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Gu: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Tureniec led with his pair of jacks but Gu was drawing live with four to a diamond flush and an over card. Unfortunately for Gu, he failed to make the best hand on the turn ({10-Clubs}) or the river ({9-Hearts}). Gu was eliminated and Tureniec now holds a slight chip lead with around 800,000.

Daniel Colman Out In 32nd

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Sunny Jung opened the betting and when Daniel Colman moved all in Jung made the call.

Jung turned over {k-}{k-} and Colman had {a-}{j-}. One from the bubble and Colman needed a bit of luck to survive.

The flop was {10-}{q-}{k-} giving Colman a straight. Jung would need the board to pair and that’s exactly what happened on the turn as a {10-} fell to give Jung a full house and left Colman drawing dead as a {3-} hit the river.

Play now switches to hand for hand on the money bubble.
