Hansen Ups The Early Aggression

Erick Lindgren raises to 1,500 from UTG and Gus Hansen calls next to him.

The flop came {Q-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {5-Clubs}, Lindgren checked and Hansen bet 3,000. Lindgren made the call and the dealer put out the {3-Clubs} on the turn. Lindgren checked against and Hansen fired out 7,500.

A disatisfied Lindgren looked a little glum and folded to the Dane.

Hansen On the Move

On the flop of {Q-Clubs} {J-Spades} {4-Spades}, David Steicke checked to Gus Hansen. Hansen fired 3,500 and Steicke called.

The turn was the {5-Spades} and Steicke check-called another bet, for 8,500 this time.

The river card was the {K-Spades} and Steicke checked. Hansen fired 22,500 and picked up the pot after Steicke folded.

Steicke Picks One Up Early

David Steicke limped under the gun and action folded around to David Eldar in the big blind. He raised to 2,500. Steicke made the call and the two players went to the flop heads up.

The flop came down {10-Hearts} {4-Spades} {2-Spades} and Eldar led with a bet of 3,500. Steicke was right there to make the call.

The turn card was the {J-Hearts} and Eldar fired 8,500. Steicke called again.

The river card put the {10-Clubs} on the board and Eldar checked. Steicke fired 15,000 and Eldar folded.

$100,000 Challenge

Welcome to the biggest buy-in event of the 2010 Aussie Millions. The $100,000 Challenge is set to feature the best of the best in poker, all looking to capture the title of one of the largest tournaments in the world.

Upstairs in Studio 3 at Crown Casino is where the event will be held. A live audience will be on to view the action for the first time and the event is being filmed for television.

There's an expectation of four tables that will be filled with the a who's who list of poker players. Phil Ivey, Tony G, Howard Lederer, Gus Hansen, David Steicke and Barry Greenstein are all confirmed to be playing in the event.

There's a unique structure to the event where players will be playing pot-limit Hold'em preflop and no-limit Hold'em after the flop. Also, each player will only have 30 seconds with each decision.

Right now, the production crew and staff are working out their last-minute preparations and things will be underway shortly. Stay tuned!
