Gaffney Gets Chips, Demetriou Slips

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Joel Gaffney has scored some much-needed chips, doubling through Harry Demetriou to move up to 100,000 as action continues here at this final table.

The action folded around to Demetriou who raised the pot from middle position with {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{6-Spades} and Gaffney re-potted all-in from the button with {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{3-Spades} before the others got out of the way.

Gaffney flopped a set and improved to a full house on the board of {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, which is always nice for a hand like that. Demetriou is down to 190,000 in chips.

Guttman Guts Demetriou

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Folded to Harry Demetriou in the big blind he made a pot size raise sending the action to Michael Guttman in the big blind. Guttman only had around 40,000 behind him, Demetriou's raise effectively leaving Guttman with one decision. A decision which Guttman quickly made as he announced he was all-in.

Demetriou: {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Guttman: {9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

The board ran out {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, with not one little bit of help for Demetriou allowing Guttman to double through to 90,000.

Antoine Bechara Eliminated in 9th Place ($3,020)

Antoine Bechara eliminated in 9th place ($3,020)
Antoine Bechara eliminated in 9th place ($3,020)

If there was an Aussie Millions Player of the Year leaderboard, it would be safe to say that Antoine Bechara would be on top right now, but he's had to settle for ninth place in this event after being sent to the rail by Matthew Konnecke.

Bechara raised the pot, making it 21,000 to go before Konnecke re-potted it to 72,000. Bechara called all-in and the cards were tabled:

Konnecke: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Bechara: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

Bechara hit his ten on the flop of {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}, but Konnecke stayed ahead all the way as the turn and river ran out {J-Diamonds}, {A-Spades}. Kings up for Konnecke was good enough to see Bechara head to the cage to collect AUD $3,020. Konnecke is now up to 190,000 in chips.

Dunwoodie Takes First Blood

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Sean Dunwoodie is chipped up!
Sean Dunwoodie is chipped up!

With such a stellar final table line-up, it didn't take long to see some action, with Sean Dunwoodie scoring a chunk off change off chipleader Haibo Chu.

The action folded around to Dunwoodie who potted from middle position. Aarno Kivelio called before Chu re-potted from the cutoff. The others got out of the way before Dunwoodie four-potted, forcing Kivelio to fold before Chu called to go heads-up to a flop of {J-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

Dunwoodie promptly shoved all-in for 225,000; Chu mucked and Dunwoodie collected the pot. Dunwoodie now leads this final table with 440,000 while Chu slips to 290,000 and change.

PokerNews would like to welcome everyone to the Crown Poker Room for all the final table action of Event 3: $1,100 Pot Limit Omaha at the 2011 Aussie Millions!

This time last year saw Annette Obrestad seated in the final nine, eventually weaving her way through the final table to be crowned champion, but that is all in the past, we are all here to see who will be taking home the gold ring in 2011, so without further ado we present to you the final table.

Final Table Seating Allocation & Chip Counts:

Seat 1: Michael Guttman - 52,000
Seat 2: Joel Gaffney - 75,000
Seat 3: Matthew Konnecke - 133,000
Seat 4: Sean Dunwoodie - 339,000
Seat 5: Aarno Kivelio - 139,000
Seat 6: Haibo Chu - 395,000
Seat 7: Mel Judah - 99,000
Seat 8: Antoine Bechara - 65,000
Seat 9: Harry Demetriou - 222,000

Will it be the chip leader Haibo Chu who will wield his lumbering stack to over throw the table? Or Will it be Australian Poker Hall of Fame inductee Mel Judah who will prove that experience is the key? Or will it be Antoine Bechara, the man who has already out-witted and outlasted hundreds at this years Aussie Millions after making his second consecutive final table?

Your guess is as good as ours, but there is only one certainty- only one can take home a gold ring. Stay tuned as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team brings every moment of the final table!
