Some Interesting Tables

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

It is no surprise that some of today's tables feature some fantastic and highly skilled players.

Tyron Krost is seated with Sam Korman and Jack Powell, while Full Tilt Poker Red Pro's Jonathan Karamalikis and Annette Obrestad headline a table that features chess prodigy Jeffrey Sarwer and online players Matthew Pearson and Jackson Zheng.

The secondary feature table features Tony Dunst, Brendon Rubie, Bruno Portaro and Dale Marsland while Full Tilt Poker Red Pro's Steve Yea and Simon Watt are seated together as Grant Levy, Neil Channing, Andrew Hinrichsen and Scott Montgomery are battling it out over on table twenty-five.

Bang! Bang! It's Shootout Time!

Welcome back to the Crown Casino and the 2011 Aussie Millions for Event 4: $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Shootout!

Five days are already in the bag with an Australia and a South African capturing elusive gold rings, and in several hours another will be awarded when the Event 3: $1,100 Pot Limit Omaha final table gets underway.

However, our focus - and obviously yours if you are reading this - is seeing how some of the best players currently located in Melbourne, Australia will apply their highly adaptive and experience-driven skills in this unique shootout format. To progress through to the next stage, a player must defeat all players at their table in a typical shootout format.

So who exactly will be looking to retain their title? No one actually! This is the first time a shootout tournament has been run at the Aussie Millions (although the previous years' bounty event has run as a shootout format, but returned to normal play once in the money) with the Crown Australian Poker Championships in 2006 featuring a Speed Poker Shootout event.

With international pros steadily making their way down to the luxurious Crown Casino and its wonderful poker room, who knows exactly who will be in attendance. Full Tilt Poker Red Pro's Annette Obrestad, James Akenhead, Scott Montgomery and Jonathan Karamalikis are most likely definites along with countless local tournament regulars. However, the one player that most will be keen to witness on the felt is Patrik Antonius who has been spotted around the Crown Casino complex, but is yet to make an appearance in the poker room.

Regardless of who fronts up to the felt, the battle for the fourth gold ring of the Aussie Millions is going to be a great one to watch. And for you at home, your spot is best saved for the couch with a few snacks and drinks in one hand, and your mouse clicking the refresh button all day as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team provides the exclusive live coverage of all the Event 4: $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Shootout action from 12:30 pm EST.
