Spoke Too Soon

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

We may have spoke to soon about Dale Philip having control of his table. A quick glance over at his stack and it is quite clear something has gone terribly wrong. Down from over twenty thousand, Philip now sits behind a stack of around 1,500.

The Battle Rages On

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Ben Delaney and Sorel Mizzi started the day as table mates and had many a battle. By the 4th level their table had broke and they would go their seperate ways. Enter the 8th level.

Brought back together by fate, this time Sorel would be on Delaney's left. Gulp. Would he be able to hold his own?

A flop reading {3-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} was on show and when Delaney checked, Mizzi fired out 2,600. Delaney immediately called and the turn card would come.

The turn car was the {4-Spades} and the two checked.

The river pealed off as a {j-Hearts} and again a cry of check came from the lips of both players.

Delaney tabled {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, his pair of nines good as Mizzi mucked his hand looking annoyed at himself, thinking he could have stolen the pot perhaps?

Philip Don't Need Card

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Dale Philip seems to have control of his table, using well-timed aggression to overrun his opponents.

Philip was in the big blind when the dealer button player raised to 2,000. Philip three-bet to 6,000 and the two players would see a flop.

Flop: {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Spades}

Philip contemplated this flop and then led out for 9,000. His opponent thought for a few moments before folding.

Philip tabled {5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Can somebody tell me a three letter word that starts with 'a' and ends in 'r'? For those of you that arent quite getting it, there is an 'i' in the word too.

Philip steals the pot and moves to 34,000.

Pedley Dosn't Have It

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Michael Pedley has just been on the wrong side of a double-knockout, moving his relatively short stack ito the middle and having to watch all the action play out with three other still involved in the pot.

By the time the board had rolled out {7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, the player who turned over {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} was all smiles as he knocked out two players, Pedley's {5-Hearts}{3-Spades} doing absolutely nothing productive except sendikng the local player straight home.

Montgomery Moves To Rail

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Scott Montgomery was one of the few players to quickly grind himself a big chip stack, moving to one of the chip leaders for much of the day. That is why it was suprising to look over from the blogging desk and see the chair Montgomery was sitting in empty and the player to his left piling a huge stack of chips.

Apparently it all started when Montgomery ran his {q-}{q-} into the {a-}{a-} of the man to his left. By which time Montgomery had lost more than half his stack.

A few hands later and Montgomery would be tangling with the same opponent, this time holding {a-}{j-} against {8-}{8-}, Montgomery all-in preflop.

The flop held {k-}{10-} and a brick, leaving a few extra outs for Montgomery, outs which he quickly lost when the {8-} rolled off on the turn. The river would need to be a queen but when it bricked Scott Montgomery would be sent home after around 5 hours of play.

Back To Play

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Yet again the players have had their ten minutes and are ready for more play. As always it is starting to get more expensive to play with blinds at 300/600 and with a 75 ante.
