Jonathan Karamalikis raised to 1,500 from middle position. Phil Ivey, runner-up in this event last year, made the call from the small blind and Billy Jordanou called from the big blind.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and both players checked to Karamalikis. He fired 3,000 and won the pot. Shortly after, Ivey lost even more chips.

He raised to 1,500 on the button and Daniel "jungleman12" Cates called from the big blind to see the flop come down {10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. After Cates checked. Ivey fired 2,000. Cates made the call.

The turn card was the {7-Spades} and Cates checked. Ivey fired again, this time for 5,500. Cates didn't just call this time. Instead, he raised to 18,000 and Ivey called.

The river completed the board with the {5-Spades} and Cates fired 31,000. Ivey made the call after he used up all, but the last second of his 30-second time bank. Cates tabled the {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a turned two pair and Ivey mucked his hand.

Ivey dropped all the way to half his starting stack and now only has 50,000 left. Cates moved to 160,000.
