Eighteen Remain; Final Table On The Way
Welcome back to the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia for the penultimate day of the 2011 Aussie Millions Main Event!
The 721-player field has now been whittled down to just eighteen who are all guaranteed an AUD$70,000 payday. However, only seven of them will be able to return here tomorrow with AUD$175,000 in their pockets as they look to play down until just one remains.
With play since the final thirty-six being six-handed, this change in tournament format has benefited the more aggressive players remaining in the field; no more evident in the fact that online gun Chris Moorman holds the overnight chip lead with an amassed 1,643,000 in chips.
On his heels is Full Tilt Poker Red Pro Mark Vos who will be looking to better his previous main event performance following a final table bubble of eighth in 2008. It will be a fairy-tale story if Cliff Lee manages to take down the title as it will be the first time a locally-bred player has one the prestigious event.
Sorel Mizzi will be looking to make a run at a consecutive final table, but in his way and on his table is fellow poker professional and Team Full Tilt Poker member Patrik Antonius who will be looking to best his thirteenth-place effort in 2007.
