Rubie Takes a Massive Hit

Bilenky opened from early position for 26,000 and was soon faced with a three-bet to 61,000 by Brendon Rubie in late position. After the button and blinds got out of the way, Bilenky made the call and then checked the {K-Spades}{3-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} flop.

Rubie took the opportunity to fire out 47,000, which Bilenky quickly check-raised to 136,000. Rubie responded by moving all in, and Bilenky snap-called for his healthy stack of 392,000.

Showdown
Rubie: {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Bilenky: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

Bilenky had flopped a set of ladies and Rubie was drawing to an open-ended straight draw, which he happened to his on the {A-} turn. Unfortunately for him, the river was another {A-}, pairing the board and giving Bilenky the monster double. Rubie is still above average with 580,000, though it is about half what he had less than an hour ago.
