The Final Day of the Opening Event Set to Begin
The final day of the Event 1: $1,100 Opening Event is here, and while it's going to be a long day, it will all be worth it as the first champion of the 2012 Aussie Millions is set to be crowned!
The event has been a huge success, with a total of 946 players participating in the event over the last three days. Only 132 of those players were skillful enough to be returning on Day 2 to give themselves a chance at taking down the $200,000 first place prize.
The chip leader going into the day is Sam Youssef as he returns with 240,100. That amount is 30,000 more than the next player and gives Youssef the best chance at making a run at the title. Youssef is a Melbourne local and has dozens of big results spanning several years. Youssef's best result came in 2008 when he won more than $100,000 on two separate occasions when he took down the $5,200 Melbourne Poker Championship. and the $10,000 High Stakes event at the Victorian Poker Championship.
There are plenty of familiar faces joining Youssef at the top of the chip leader board with Alex Lynskey, Joel Dodds, Joel Feldman, Brendon Rubie and [Removed:505] each returning with plenty of chips to keep themselves in contention. Below is a look at the top ten chip counts coming into the day.
