Three Champions with Different Fortunes

Tristan Wade, JP Kelly, and David Vamplew are all title holders from the EPT or WSOP but only one of them remains.

Wade moved all-in for around 12,000 from the button after the player to his right limped. He was called and assumed he was in with a good chance of a double. Wrong. The sneaky player had limped with aces and took him out.

David Vamplew suffered a similar fate. He just Tweeted, “They got me in bounty. Waiting for @crownpoker to get organsied enough to start #aussiemillions 1k sat. 11 handed ofc #yawn.”

JP Kelly, meanwhile, is cruising of 75,000 chips. The two-time bracelet winner got short early but was gifted a double-up to 40 big blinds and hasn’t looked back since.

Anton With a Tonne Of Chips

Anton Wigg, the former EPT Copenhagen champion, recently took month off the poker grind to travel Japan, Malaysia, and Indonesia. He entered today after getting straight off the plane from Bali and feels fresh in body and in appetite for the game. He’s a hard player to stop once he’s got chips, and he has chips.

The Swede showed the aggressive side to his game with a four-bet to 7,540 from third position. There had been an UTG open to 1,700 and a three-bet to 3,700 in front of him but both players made a reluctant looking fold. Wigg has 63,000 chips and looks in control of his table.

Bach Booms to Chip Lead

After one player in middle position opened with a raise to an unknown amount, David Bach flat-called. Sheldon called on the button and then the big blind squeezed all in for 14,000. The original raiser called and then Bach reraised all in for approximately 40,000. Sheldon folded while the original raiser made the call.

Bach tabled the {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and was up against the {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for the original raiser and the {8-Spades}{4-Spades} for the big blind.

The flop, turn and river ran out {K-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Bach won the pot to moved to over 100,000 in chips.

A Look At The Numbers

Level 9 : 400/800, 75 ante

A field of 315 players has made for a total prize pool of $472,750, with $27,000 of that part of the bounty prize pool. This means a total of $445,500 will be handed out to the eventual 32 players who make the cash. The top prize is $119,500 and that's what all the players are gunning for.

Remember that once there are only 32 players remaining, the tournament will become a shootout format, with 4 tables of 8 players. The top 2 players on each table will progress to the final table of 8.

Romanello Rockets to the Rail

Roberto Romanello won't be cashing in this event and he was forced to hand over his bounty as his aces just got cracked in brutal fashion. Here's how it went down.

Action folded over to the player in the small blind and he raised to 1,300. Roberto Romanello reraised from the big blind to 3,100 and then the small blind shoved all in. Romanello snap-called for 19,000 total and tabled the {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}. His opponent held the {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

The flop came down {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and although Romanello flopped top set, he had to fade a flush draw that his opponent flopped.

The turn brought a third heart with the {8-Hearts} falling and the small blind took the lead with a flush. Still, Romanello wasn't dead and could fill up on the river to win the pot in order to stay alive. At this point, the small blind put his two hands together in a prayer motion and began whispering to himself for his hand to hold up. "Please, please, please, please, please," he was seen mouthing.

The river completed the board with the {2-Hearts} and Romanello's rockets went down in flames. He passed over the bounty and headed to the rail.

Jamie Rising

Jamie Rosen has been moved to right of Bounty Salman Behbehrabi, on a table that also includes Jack Ellwood and Jamie Pickering.

Rosen is up to 60,000 chips after betting 1,500 from the button on a {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} board. His opponent (early position) check-called before both checked the {a-Hearts} river. Rosen tabled {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and took the pot as his opponent mucked.
