Phil Ivey has even more chips now thanks to some pocket aces that saw him gobble up all of MIke Watson's chips. According to some of the players at Ivey's table, on the last hand before the break Ivey and Watson got all of the money in preflop. Ivey held two aces and Watson two queens. From there, the aces held up and Ivey moved to nearly three times the starting stack.

Trickett v. Smith

We wish we'd seen the early action in this hand, but we only walked up to the turn of a {8-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} board to see Sam Trickett and Dan Smith mixed up in a heads-up pot. On that street, Trickett led out with a bet of 2,400 into a pot of about 3,200, and Smith made a contemplative call to see the last card.

"Can you push it forward?" the dealer asked Trickett. The bet was fairly near the middle of the table if we're honest, and Trickett took a bit of grumpy exception, snapping back with a quiet comment of frustration and reaching out farther than the dealer would have needed to flick his bet further toward the pot. "Can you reach his?" he asked sarcastically about Smith's bet from the nine seat. The dealer scooped in the chips.

In any event, the {7-Diamonds} filled out the board, and Trickett gave up. He checked, then snap-folded when Smith made the river bet.

Hopefully that vigorous massage Trickett is in the midst of will cheer him up a bit. Both he and Smith are up a bit from their starting stacks.

Some Early Counts

And we just spotted Melanie Weisner, she didn't arrive on a unicycle but we are still waiting for the big show. Tony G said she would get an Aussie Millions Main Event seat if she could ride a unicycle.

Early Loss For Reinkemeier

Tobias Reinkemeier
Tobias Reinkemeier

We jut caught the action on the flop that read {Q-Spades}{2-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. Reinkemeier was in a blind battle and we saw him call a 2,500 bet from the big blind.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and the small blind fired another 2,500 into Reinkemeier who made the call once more. On the river the {3-Spades} hit and once again the small blind grabbed chips quickly. He threw out 6,100 and Reinkemeier stared at the board for a couple of second before looking over to his opponent. As the two were staring deeply into each others' eyes Reinkemeier couldn't help it and started laughing. He folded his cards and went back to his focused face leaving himself with 22,000 chips.

More Tough Tables

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

A couple more pairings and trios we're keeping a good eye on today...

Table 15 is bringing back memories of Sunday for us. Nam Le and JC Tran were seated beside each other for a chunk of the $100,000 Challenge, and they're back to being next-door neighbors again, sitting in Seats 2 and 3, respectively.

A few tables over, Table 20 has the murderers' row. Roberto Romanello (Seat 6), Angel Guillen (7), and Mike Sowers (8) are doing their best to make life miserable for the other six players there.

And not to be overlooked is Table 27, another candidate for Table of Death. We've got 2010 PCA runner-up Ty Reiman sitting there in Seat 5, and he's been joined by Brandon Adams (7) and Tobias Reinkemeier (9) to make that a very tough table as well.

Gorr Back to Defend His Title

2011 Aussie Millions Main Event champion David Gorr

Last year at the 2011 Aussie Millions, David Gorr emerged victorious after besting a field of 721 runners to take home the A$ 2,000,00 first-place prize. Gorr bested James Keys heads up for the title and will forever go down in poker history for his amazing accomplishment.

Currently sitting fourth on Australia's all-time money list, Gorr was inducted into the Australia Poker Hall of Fame earlier this year alongside Jason Gray. The two joined the likes of Joe Hachem, Jeff Lisandro, Lee Nelson and Tony G to name a few.

Aussie Millions + Australian Open = Great Fun

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Another great thing the Crown staff likes to provide for some of the players at the Aussie Millions is tickets to some of the Australia Open matches. Yesterday, Jason Mercier, Daniel Negreanu, Daniel Alaei and Maria Ho ventured over to the matches and got involved in some friendly (but possibly expensive) wagering with one another. Here's what we gathered from some of the Twitter action.

@JasonMercier: "Watching tennis live is so amazing Always liked watching it on tv but never became a full fledged fan #nevertoolate I might start playing 2"

@JasonMercier: "Just got laid 8 to 1 from @RealKidPoker he took sharapova to win the match even tho she los thet 1st set. I like my side. What's pinny line?"

@JasonMercier: "Laid Alaei 7-1 same bet when Maria was up 5-2 in 2nd set. I either win 30k or lose 4k #feelslikeafreeroll #letsgogermany"

@RealKidPoker: "@JasonMercier laid 25-1 on the Hewitt match Chinese auction style. Feel stupid laying it but also like its free money"

@JasonMercier: "Took 25 to 1 vs @RealKidPoker on hewitt over djokovic. Burning money but sweating an injury. #nogamblenofuture"

@RealKidPoker: "@JasonMercier enjoying a.... Yeah. pic.twitter.com/VRQLNf2j"

@RealKidPoker: "Video Aussie Open w @JasonMercier @eholla4 @MariaHo @dalaei and an old crabby couple who hated us #mostlyme

Flying Start for Ivey

It is always good to see Phil Ivey play in a poker tournament, and today he probably likes the way things are going as well. We didn't catch all the action, but in a hand where the board read {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} Ivey bet 500 from the big blind. His opponent called and on the river, the {J-Hearts}, Ivey fired out 1,500 very rapidly.

His opponent threw in a 5,000 chip and Ivey removed his headphones, "Raise?", he asked, and the dealer said it was a call. Right away he turned over {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} over for the nut straight and raked in another pot. Ivey is seated at a table with Mike Watson but apart from him we don't recognize any of the players.
