More for Shak

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Benny Spindler checked on the {K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop, and Dan Shak bet 20,000. Spindler called.

The turn paired the board with the {10-Spades}, and both players checked to see the {K-Spades} add another pair to the board on the river. Spindler checked, and Shak bet 100,000. Spindler tanked, then called.

Shak flipped over the {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for a full house, and Spindler mucked his hand.

Schemion Bluffs Negreanu

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu check-called a bet of 16,600 from Ole Schemion on the {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} board to see the {2-Clubs} land on the river. Negreanu checked, and Schemion moved all in. With about 45,000 behind, Negreanu tanked for a bit, then folded. Schemion showed the {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, and Negreanu claimed to have folded a nine and said he was thinking of calling, but opted to wait.

The "Next Aussie Millions Champ" Promotion

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Across the room there is a three-handed sit n'go taking place as part of Crown's "Next Aussie Millions Champ" promotion. The three players — Jamie Robertson, Anita Le, and Savvas Haitidis — were previously selected to be the faces of the 2014 Aussie Millions. As a result, there are numerous banners throughout the poker room featuring their faces.

As part of the promotion, the three local players were invited to participate in a three-man sit n'go for a seat into the Main Event. Needless to say it's the opportunity of a lifetime for Robertson (an electrician), Le (a disability nurse), and Haitidis (a recycling company owner). We'll keep you updated on who wins the seat, but in the meantime check out some photos from the event:

The remaining players in the AU$25,000 Challenge are on a 15-minute break.

"Dan Shak Show Table 24!"

Level 10 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Action folded to Jeff Rossiter on the button, and he raised to 4,800. Dan Shak called from the big blind, and the flop came down {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Shak checked, and Rossiter bet 6,500. Shak check-raised to 20,000, and then Rossiter fired back with a reraise to 52,500. Shak moved all in, and Rossiter quickly called.

Rossiter tabled the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} for top set. Shak had bottom pair plus a flush draw with the {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

The turn was the {K-Diamonds} to give Shak his diamond flush. The river didn't pair the board with the {3-Clubs}, and Rossiter was eliminated. Shak won the pot and vaulted to 370,000 in chips.

"Dan Shak show Table 24!" yelled out Scott Seiver from across the table.
