Two Million-Chip Pot

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Sorel Mizzi opened to 40,000 from the hijack seat, Salvatore Fazzino three-bet to 155,000 from the big blind, and Mizzi called.

The flop fell {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, Fazzino led out for 275,000, and Mizzi moved all in for effectively 800,000 or so. Fazzino called.

Fazzino: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Mizzi: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Both players held pocket kings, but Fazzino was drawing to a flush holding the sole diamond. The hand was over when the {j-Spades} turned, securing the chop, and the {a-Diamonds} bricked off on the river.

Gao Wants to Win

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jie Gao open-shoved all in for 91,000 in the cutoff, Scott Seiver called on the button, and both blinds released.

"Chop?" Seiver asked Gao.

He refused.

"I want to win!"

Gao's hand was dominating Seiver's, and he extended his lead when the flop fell {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Seiver was drawing dead when the {k-Spades}, and the two did not chop the pot when the {a-Clubs} completed the board.

Crivell Calls

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Patrick Crivell
Patrick Crivell

After a very turbulant two hours, Patrick Crivell has found a double.

Eoghan O'Dea opened to 40,000, Crivell three-bet to 105,000, and O'Dea moved all in for effectively 450,000 or so. Crivell called.

Crivell: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
O'Dea: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}

Crivell shot up out of his chair after seeing O'Dea's hand, but the Irish flopped a big sweat when the dealer fanned {q-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts}. The {4-Hearts} on the turn gave him three extra outs to make a straight, but Crivell survived as the {a-Diamonds} bricked off on the river.

The American doubled to 1.2 million chips, while the Irishman dropped to 980,000.

Jason Mercier Eliminated in 18th Place (AU$55,000)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

The last Team PokerStars Pro in the field has been eliminated from the 2014 Aussie Millions Main Event.

It happened when Ami Barer opened for 40,000 under the gun and action folded around to Jason Mercier in the big blind. The Team Pro opted to move all in for 520,000 and Barer made the call.

Mercier: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Barer: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Mercier was behind but had run well in similar situations throughout the tournament. Unfortunately for him, his luck ran out when the {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop delivered Barer a full house. Mercier needed running sevens to stay alive, but the {Q-Diamonds} turn took away any chance of that happening. The {2-Hearts} was run out on the river for good measure and then Mercier jetted across the room to register for the $100,000 Challenge.

Ying Kit Chan Eliminated in 19th Place (AU$40,000)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

We picked up the action on a flop of {10-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{6-Spades} when a raising war resulted in Ying Kit Chan getting his stack of 700,000 or so all in with the {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} against Scott Seiver, who had flopped a set with the {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}. Chan needed to catch either a king or running straight cards to stay alive, and the {A-Diamonds} turn kept the latter hope alive. Unfortunately for him, the {3-Spades} blanked on the river and Chan's run came to an end in 19th place.

With Chan's elimination we are down to the final 18 players, and that means it's time for a redraw.
