Rastogi Eliminated

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Rahul Rastogi
Rahul Rastogi

The chips of Rahul Rastogi now belong to table neighbor Oliver Gill, as the former failed to beat the {A-}{K-} of the latter with his {K-}{J-}. According to the screens, only 85 players remain, meaning that more than half the field has already been eliminated with another four levels to go.

Kempe Departs

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

The first part of Rainer Kempe's stack vanished when running with {A-}{Q-} into pocket kings and soon after he lost the rest of it with {J-}{Q-} against the pocket aces of table neighbor Matt Salsberg. Jack Salter still has not been able to generate chips at the very same table while his younger brother Louis, who was a bigger stack early on, lost quite some one table over as well.

Riding the Heater

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Eric Theissen
Eric Theissen

Eric Theissen has been on a heater as of lately and grabbed most chips off Rahul Rastogi. Oliver Gill had been more silent lately, but slowly and surely ammassed chips. Of course it also helps to pick up decent starting starting hands. Gill raised from early position and then flashed the {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} when all his opponents folded.

Ferris Doubles

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Daniel Laidlaw lost some chips and dropped to 29,000 while Daniel Levy won a couple of hands in a row to boost his stack significantly. Another Aussie, David Ferris at the same table doubled up just now, too. On the three-way flop {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, Butteroni led for 2,200 and was called before Ferris shoved for 11,125.

Butteroni folded but the cold-caller tossed in the extra chips with {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Ferris was ahead with {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and doubled thanks to the {2-Hearts} turn and {K-Hearts} river.

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

At the same table as Najeem Ajez, Tatjana Zizic has more than four times the starting stack and is among the current chip leaders. Andrew Bayliss follows not far behind on the same table as Sam Higgs.

172 Entries for Flight 2

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

The tournament staff has just confirmed 172 entries for Day 2 with a few of the entries coming in just prior or in the previous break. Glazier and Ranchhod Eliminated

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante
Jackie Glazier
Jackie Glazier

Fred Ranchhod opened from early position and was three-bet by Ziga Janskovec to 2,600. Jackie Glazier pushed all in for 3,325 and Ranchhod as well as Janskovec called. "I feel super confident that I gonna come back tomorrow," Glazier joked.

On the flop {2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, Ranchhod got the remainder of his stack in as well for around 4,000 chips and Janskovec called it off with the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. Ranchhod held {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} while Glazier's flush draw with {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} was no good. Both the {4-Hearts} turn and the {K-Diamonds} river blanked and Janskovec knocked out two opponents.

Instant Add On for Laidlaw

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante
Daniel Laidlaw
Daniel Laidlaw

A player that late registered doubled up very early on after getting into the tournament and just three-bet shoved a minute into level seven for at least 16,000 chips. Daniel Laidlaw more than happily called and rolled over {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. The opponent flashed {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and failed to improve on a board of {9-Spades}{A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.
