Raising Raj

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

After the previous big pot, Raj Ramakrishnan was left with very few chips but doubled up more than once. Just now, the Indian shoved into a limp and his opponent asked for a quick count before folding. Next to Ramakrishnan is Andrew Dales with an above-average stack as well.

Eight Tables Remain

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The stack of Michael Seymour was moved to the table of Rupert Elder and Jonathan Karamalikis and it came in "increments". The first 110,000 arrived by the hands of the tournament director and all players on the table were stunned already. Then Seymour sat down without saying a word when his table broke.

According to the screens, only 72 players remain with less than one hour to go.

Sapitavicius Disappeared

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Around 40,000 chips were left for Arunas Sapitavicius, but those now belong to Michael Kanaan. The Lithuanian four-bet shoved with pocket eights and Kanaan won the flip with {A-}{Q-} to knock out Sapitavicius. Kanaan is back on track and there is barely any German to fear anymore, only Manig Loeser and Rainer Kempe are still in this flight.

Laidlaw Runs into Quads

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Daniel Laidlaw got his last 20,000 chips in preflop with the {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and was looked up by an opponent with {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. The {9-Spades} as door card pretty much left Laidlaw in desperate shape, but it got even worse as the {9-Diamonds} followed straight after. Quads! No chance at all for the Aussie, who grabbed his belongings and barely saw the board complete with {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

Ramakrishnan's Risk not Rewarded

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

After a raise to 3,500, Raj Ramakrishnan called and the action folded around to Jan Suchanek. The New Zealander three-bet to 9,500 and just Ramakrishnan called. On the flop {9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, Suchanek got his remaining stack worth 37,000 in with the {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and Ramakrishnan looked him up with {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for top pair and a gutshot.

The board completed with the {J-Spades} turn and {4-Spades} river to let the H.O.R.S.E. runner-up double up to a decent stack.

Levy Shoves to Claim Pot

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Daniel Levy raised to 3,300 and faced a three-bet to 7,600 from two seats over to put in the extra chips. On the flop {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}, Levy check-called a bet of 5,000 and the {6-Diamonds} on the turn was checked through. On the {Q-Spades} river, Levy shoved and that enforced a fold from his opponent.

Other notables have been able to increase their stack as well.

Galindo Lopez Pushes

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

On the heads-up flop {6-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}, Josep Maria Galindo Lopez bet 6,200 and was raised to 14,000. The Spaniard wasted little time before pushing all in and his opponent asked for a count. Once the dealer had done his duty, it was 34,200 in total and that deemed to be enough to scare off the opponent.
