Barer Busto, Katchalov Crushing

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Former Aussie Millions Main Event winner Ami Barer has just been knocked out by Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov. Barer raised before the flop to 6,500 and Katchalov made the call from the big blind.

The flop came down {4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Spades} and Katchalov checked to Barer who bet 8,000. Katchalov check-raised to 20,000 and Barer moved all in for about 60,000 total. Katchalov called.

Katchalov: {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Barer: {8-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}, {A-Hearts} and Barer was sent to the rail, while Katchalov jumped up the leaderboard.

Eights Prove Great for Spindler

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

When we arrived at Table 25, Benny Spindler had 16,500 out in front of him on the button and Philipp Gruissem had 60,000 or so out in front from the small blind. Spindler tanked before moving all in for 72,900, and Gruissem called.

Gruissem: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Spindler: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

Gruissem flinched upon seeing his pocket pair was dominated, and he sent over nearly half his stack after the board ran out a dry {3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}.

Kornuth Firing Away

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Mike McDonald check-called a bet of 5,000 from Chance Kornuth on the {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop. The turn was the {6-Clubs}, and McDonald checked again. Kornuth bet 9,500, and McDonald called.

The river was the {3-Diamonds}, and McDonald checked. Kornuth bet 30,000, and McDonald tank-folded.

Lynskey Delivers a Bad Beat

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

On a flop of {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{J-Hearts} Pratyush Buddiga and Alexander Lynskey got their chips in. Buddiga was the demanding favorite with {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} as Lynskey had just {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. The {5-Clubs} on the turn made things interesting and Lynskey's runner runner dream was completed with the {K-Clubs} falling on the river. With his back door flush Lynskey doubled his 81,500 stack, leaving Buddiga with just 21,500.

The next hand Buddiga shoved all in for 21,100 from the cutoff. Elliot Smith on the button flat called and both blinds folded. Buddiga had {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} while Smith tabled {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Buddiga doubled.

A King Saves Kho

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

"All in and a call on Table 32," we just heard the dealer call out, and this was the scene when we arrived.

Ben Tollerene: {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Kitson Kho: {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

The board showed {3-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{A-Clubs}, on which Tollerene had made the nut straight against Kho's two pair.

When the {K-Diamonds} hit on the river Kho celebrated loudly as he jumped up out of his seat, and Tollerene watched a pot worth 175,000 slip through his fingers.

Urbanovich Done Dirty on the River

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Dzmitry Urbanovich
Dzmitry Urbanovich

Dzmitry Urbanovich opened for 7,500 under the gun only to have Tyron Krost three-bet to 17,000 from the button. Michael Egan then four-bet jammed from the big blind, Urbanovich called off for what looked to be 75,000, and Krost got out of the way.

Egan: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Urbanovich: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Urbanovich was well out in front, and he stayed there on the {4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop as well as the {9-Diamonds} turn. Unfortunately for him, the {q-Hearts} spiked on the river to pair Egan's kicker and give him the win.

When It Comes to a Straight Flush, the Price is Right

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

A big hand just went down at Table 32 between Oliver Price and Michael Liem.

When we arrived, chips were already being counted out. From what we could piece together, there was around 70,000 in the pot with the board reading {k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{q-Spades} when a raising war broke out that resulted in Price getting all in for 189,800.

"Straight flush versus nut flush," explained Liem, whose cards had already been swiped away. While we couldn't verify his holdings, we did see Price had the {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs} out in front of him for the said straight flush.
