Peters Doubles Petrangelo

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Nick Petrangelo opened for 7,500 from middle position and over on the button David Peters three-bet to 20,500. Both blinds folded, Petrangelo called.

Both checked {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and the {A-Clubs} hit the turn. Petrangelo check-called a bet of 20,000 and the {K-Clubs} completed the board. Petrangelo checked, Peters bet 50,000, and Petrangelo shoved for 104,000.

Peters called, but mucked after being shown {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} by Petrangelo for the flopped full house.

Check Raise the River

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

From early position, Bryn Kenney opened for 7,000 and Alexandros Kolonias called from the hijack. Big blind Steffen Sontheimer over called and all three of them checked the {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop and {K-Spades} turn. The river came the {J-Spades} and Sontheimer checked again. Kenney bet 17,000 and Kolonias called. Sontheimer check-raised to, what looked like, 225,000 to put them both at risk. Kenney needed time and tossed in a time breaker chip, but folded. Kolonias folded as well.

Bryn Kenney Eliminated by Sam Trickett

Bryn Kenney

Bryn Kenney was one of the last players to enter this event in a batch of four players that signed up in the dinner break, but now he's out.

He got his last 33,000 in with {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} in from the cutoff versus Sam Trickett in early position.

Bryn Kenney: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Sam Trickett: {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

Kenney was ahead but, as these things go sometimes, that didn't last long. The {J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop helped Trickett in front and he remained there with the {5-Diamonds} on the turn and {4-Hearts} on the river. Eight players left.

Alexandros Kolonias Eliminated by David Peters

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Alexandros Kolonias
Alexandros Kolonias

A scant few hands after the departure of Bryn Kenney and there is another casualty. This time it is Alexandros Kolonias on the chopping block.

After David Peters opened to 9,000 from the cutoff a short-stacked Kolonias thought about his options for 15 seconds and then moved all-in for 38,000 with Peters making the call fairly swiftly.

Alexandros Kolonias: {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
David Peters: {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Kolonius’ pocket deuces were in front of Peters’ ace-high when the flop came down {k-Hearts}{q-}{3-Diamonds}. The {k-Diamonds} turn gave Peters’ more outs and he duly hit one of them when the {9-Diamonds} landed on the river to send Kolonias to the rail and there are now seven players left. Play will either finish at the end of the level or when the next bust out occurs depending on which comes first.

Small Pots

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Nothing rwally big has happened since Kolonias' bust out. It's mostly small pots that the railbirds here at Crown Casino are seeing.

Holz Shoves

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Mike Watson opened the cutoff for 9,000 and Fedor Holz called from the big blind. Holz check-raised Watson's 10,000 continuation bet to 28,000 and Watson called on {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Holz bet 67,000 on the {8-Clubs} turn and Watson called.

The river {8-Diamonds} saw Holz take his time, use a time breaker chip, and then shove all in. Watson thought about it for just a bit before he folded.
