Timoshenko Straightens Out Opponent

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Following an under the gun limp Yevgeniy Timoshenko popped it up to 900 to go from middle position with the limper the only caller.

Under the gun checked the {6-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} rainbow flop over to Timoshenko, who checked it right back, bringing the action to the {q-Clubs} turn.

Following another check from his opponent, Tomoshenko decided to take a stab for 1,400 and his opponent threw out the calling chips to bring the action to the {4-Diamonds} river.

The under the gun player checked for a third time and Timoshenko fired out an 1,800 bet and is called once more, taking down the hand after rolling over {j-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts} for the rivered straight.

Raise the River

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

From early position, Jyri Merivirta raised to 600. He got no fewer than three callers; Sam Greenwood (cutoff), Sam Higgs (button), and Dominykas Karmazinas (big blind).

All four of them checked on the {5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{J-Spades} flop and {5-Clubs} turn before the {8-Diamonds} completed the board. Karmazinas and Merivirta checked again, showing no interest in the pot at all. Greenwood bet pot for 2,500 and Higgs raised to 8,500. Everyone, including Greenwood, folded right away.

Active Higgs Wins Another

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Sam Higgs sure does like to play a lot of pots and the Aussie player is at it once again following a middle position raise to 750 from Sam Greenwood. Higgs called the cutoff and a player on the button came along for the ride as well.

Greenwood checked the {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop opening the door for Higgs who fired out a 2,000 bet. The button called and Greenwood bowed out to take play heads-up to the {q-Hearts} turn, which both players check.

The {k-Spades} river brought a 2,300 bet from Greenwood and the button chewed through his allocated 20-seconds before folding and Higgs wins another.

Top Two Good for Higgs

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Sam Higgs opened under the gun for 300, picking up two callers in the form of the button and Sam Greenwood in the small blind.

Greenwood checked and Higgs continuation bet 1,000 on the {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop. While this was enough to get the button to bow out Greenwood decided to make the call.

The {10-Spades} turn brought checks from both Greenwood and Higgs, as did the {3-Hearts} river.

"Top two," declared Higgs, turning over {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Hearts} to take down the pot as Greenwood mucked.

Laak Sells 'Believable' Story

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

A player sitting under the gun opened to 300 with Yevgeniy Timoshenko (button) and Phil Laak (small blind) making the call to take play three-way to a {k-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop.

All three players check, and do so again on the {10-Diamonds} turn with Laak leading out for 750 on the {3-Hearts} river.

The original raiser folds and after a big sigh so does Timoshenko.

"You know what, I believe you Phil," said Timoshenko.

"I believable, I'll show you." Quipped Laak, showing two of his four cards, rolling over {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} while raking in the small pot.

Small Pots Grow Big Fast in PLO

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The player under the gun limped in for 100 and small blind Sam Greenwood raised to 400. Big blind Sam Higgs called, and so did the limper.

Greenwood and Higgs checked on {K-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and the player that had limped now bet 800. Greenwood folded, Higgs called.

The {J-Spades} hit the turn and Higgs checked. His neighbor bet 1,500 and Higgs potted and put 8,500 out in the middle. His opponent folded, Higgs showed {9-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Higgs is off to a good start, he's already up to over 20,000 after having shown the nuts at least twice now already.

Laidlaw Gets on the Board

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Daniel Laidlaw
Daniel Laidlaw

Poker players are notoriously late risers and with only 16 players registered so far play is shorthanded at present.

That seemed to suit Daniel Laidlaw just fine however, and he has just taken a decent sized pot down off a tablemate.

Preflop Laidlaw opened to 350 from the button and his opponent, seated in the small blind, pumped it up to 1,150 to go with Laidlaw making the call to take play heads-up to a flop of [c6ctd].

The small blind checked and Laidlaw decided to take a stab for 1,600, which his opponent called.

The {8-Diamonds} turn brought another check from the small blind and a slightly larger bet of 5,600 from Laidlaw. The small blind made the call before checking for a third time when the {4-Spades} hit the river.

Laidlaw moved all in and his opponent folded.
