Ajez Picks Off Koren

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Artur Koren opened on the button and got action from both blinds. After unknown flop action, he bet 78,000 on a board of {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{a-Clubs}. Big blind Najeem Ajez called and the river was a {10-Hearts}. Ajez checked and Koren bet big: 275,000. Ajez called and Koren immediately mucked. Ajez slapped down {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

Tchong Busts on the Feature Table

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Michael Tchong in the cutoff and Joshua Abady on the button clashed with the latter being the player at risk with {K-Spades}{J-Spades}. Tchong was marginally ahead with {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and the board came {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} to give Abady a straight.

Tchong was all in for 6,000 soon after and Abady forced out Arne Ruge on the {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} turn with a bet of 20,000. Tchong turned over his {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Abady had the {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a gutshot and straight draw. Sure enough the {8-Clubs} river improved Abady to a straight and Tchong was gone.

Lubana and Charette Depart

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Duff Charette
Duff Charette

Prior to the elimination of Jamie Sadlier, Gurpreet Lubana had ran with ace-king into pocket aces to depart.

Duff Charette followed soon after when he open-shoved for 121,000 from the cutoff and was called by Chen An Lin in the big blind.

Duff Charette: {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Chen An Lin: {K-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The {J-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop sent Charette in desperate mode and it was all over on the {8-Hearts} turn, making the {3-Hearts} river a formality.

With that elimination, the next table was supposed to break but there was still action going on. A raise and a call were followed by a three-et to 56,000 by Beau Palmer on the button and Johan Schumacher shoved out of the small blind. It folded back to Palmer, who asked for a count, and reluctantly folded to the shove for 488,000 in total.

Zhang Wrestles with River Raise

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Bobby Zhang raised to 16,000 from under the gun. Saijes Mundadan called on the button and Ross Grammer called in the big blind.

The three players checked the {10-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop and Grammer checked to Zhang on the {j-Hearts} turn. Zhang bet 24,000 and Mundadan called, with Grammer folding.

The river was the {3-Diamonds}. Zhang bet 55,000 and Mundadan raised to 130,000. Zhang went deep into the tank, mumbling all sorts about what Mundadan could be raising with.

"Are you raising with queen-jack on the river?" he said. Eventually the clock was called and Zhang let the clock run all the way down before folding.

Mike Del Vecchio
Mike Del Vecchio

Mike Del Vecchio raised to 18,000 and Takao Shimizu three-bet to 60,000 from the big blind. Del Vecchio called but the pair subsequently checked a flop, turn and river of {7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} down.

Shimizu showed {a-}{q-} while Del Vecchio took down the pot with {3-}{3-}.
