Koop Takes from Veskler

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Pavel Veksler raised his button to 600 and Niko Koop called from the big blind.

Koop let Veksler bet 450 on the {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop and then check-raised to 1,200. Veksler called.

The {4-Hearts} turn saw Koop fire 2,300 and Veksler called again.

They checked the {2-Spades} river and Koop tabled {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Veksler mucked.

Shimizu Eliminates Sepping

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Takao Shimizu and Rasmus Sepping ended up all in on a {4-Clubs}{a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Hearts} turn. With around 33,000 in the pot, Shimizu moved all in for about 27,000. Sepping had about a half of that in front of him and he eventually called for his tournament life.

Shimizu had flopped a boat with {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Sepping could only hope for an ace or a king with his {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. The river was the {5-Hearts} and Sepping's chips gravitated towards Shimizu.

MacPhee Can't Induce

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Kevin MacPhee checked from middle position on a completed board of {4-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, with 7,600 in the pot. Mike Del Vecchio thought briefly in the cutoff then checked it back, spinning {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} into the middle.

MacPhee had been lying in wait with {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and took the pot with his flush.

Veksler Wins on River

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

There had already been about 16,000 in the pot when the action was picked up on the {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop. Pavel Veksler was in the hijack, calling a bet of 5,000 from a player in an early position.

They slowed down on the {6-Diamonds} turn, checking, and Veksler fired 10,000 on the {q-Hearts} river after it was checked to him. His opponent check-folded and Veksler took it down.

Hartmann's Barrels Fail

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Pascal Hartmann raised to 1,300 in the small blind over a couple of limps, both of whom called along with the big blind for a {3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop. Hartmann bet 1,500 and only a middle-position player stuck around. Hartmann bet 2,500 on the {j-Spades} and they went to a river of {3-Diamonds}. Hartmann checked this time and his opponent tanked a bit before checking back.

Hartmann showed {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and mucked that to {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Schlie Fades Lots of Outs and Doubles

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
Aussie Millions Main Event
Aussie Millions Main Event

Nikolas Schlie made it 2,500 to go preflop from the small blind on a three-bet and a player who opened in middle position called. Schlie bet 5,500 on the {7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{4-Spades} flop and then shoved for 26,025 on the {10-Diamonds} turn. His opponent tanked until a clock was called then flashed his cards to his neighbor. With less than 30 seconds remaining, he announced a call and slapped down {a-Spades}{q-Spades} for a big draw.

Schlie had it for the moment with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and the {6-Clubs} kept him best. He let out a full-throated yell of celebration and raked in a double.

Easy Game for Koop

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

The board read {q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Niko Koop bet 9,000 into the pot. His left-hand opponent moved all in for around 23,000 and Koop quickly peeked at his cards before snapping it off, turning up {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for quads. The other player showed {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} before exiting the tournament area.

"I thought I misread my hand," Koop explained, having not expected to see his opponent shove. Koop is now approaching the 100,000-mark, guarding one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Moreno Drives Two Out

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Andrew Moreno looked to have been the original opener, with Alex Lynskey making it 1,600 on his left in the hijack. The cutoff cold-called and Moreno came back with 5,800. That convinced Lynskey to give it up in short order. The cutoff took a bit longer but folded as well.
