The fields have levelled out somewhat with only two players looking to sit above 200,000. Junjie Liu had a great Level 5, entering the top of the counts and Thomas Mcmahon now looks to sit in second place.
Other new entries into the spotlight are Weiran Pu and Elliot Esca. With Alan Pham and Denis Sekuloski still maintaining a commanding stack.
After just giving up on a huge pot against Josh Giddey, Edward Hatzakortzian open-jammed from middle position. As he moved in his chips he said "I gotta try".
He was called and covered by Bobby Zhang in the hijack, and the players flipped their cards.
Edward Hatzakortzian: A♣K♥
Bobby Zhang: A♥Q♣
Hatzakortzian stood from the table to watch the run out and cheered after seeing a King come on the 4♦K♦8♥ flop.
He held on the 9♥ turn and 8♣ river, securing his seat for a little while longer.
Josh Giddey, sitting in middle position and was caught calling a preflop re-raise of 15,000 from under the gun. Edward Hatzakortzian who already had chips committed to the pot, also topped up from the hijack.
The players went three-ways to the J♠K♥5♥ flop and under the gun checked. Giddey bet 15,000 and action went to Hatzakortzian.
Hatzakortzian struggled to make a decision and stacked up his remaining 18,700 chips, lifted them up, but then placed them back down in front of him.
After just under a minute, Hatzakortzian folded his hand, leaving Giddey to scoop the pot putting him back above starting stack.
After returning from the break just short of being the chip leader, Thomas Mcmahon was caught in a hand with Man Wong.
Mcmahon was in middle position and heads up against Wong, who was in the hijack. Wong was just caught calling a pre-flop raise by Mcmahon to take the players to the flop, with a pot of around 20,000.
The pair saw a 3♠J♠4♠ flop. Mcmahon bet 6,000 and Wong quickly called.
A 9♣ was turned and Mcmahon continued for 17,000. Wong called and the A♦ completed the board.
Wong looked at Mcmahon for a reaction as the river fell. Mcmahon was giving nothing away and stared at the board after moving all in.
It took Wong around 3 minutes to make a decision. During the tank he took out his headphones to start probing Mcmahon questions. "If I fold, will you show?" he asked. Wong continued, "Do you have the nuts?...Hmmm...No answer".
Thomas McMahon
Wong finally threw his cards into the muck and Mcmahon broke out of the statue to smile. The pair were continuing to discuss the hand during the next round of action, but neither player disclosed their cards.
Mcmahon left the hand as the chip leader, sitting on just over 230,000.
