Zhang Doubles Through Malseed

Players were already on the 5♥7♠6♠ flop with Scot Malseed in the big blind and Michael Zhang in the cutoff. The pot stood at around 6,000 and Zhang had moved all in for 32,100.

Malseed didn't take long to make the call and the pair flipped their hands.

Scot Malseed: 5♠4♦

Zhang was looking at a flush and straight draw, and Malseed sat with a pair of fives and an open-ended straight draw.

The 8♣ turn was good for Zhang, taking the lead, and he held on the Q♣ river to secure the double up.

A 8♣ turn saw Carlson move out 3,700 and Djumic called.

The Q♥ completed the board and Carlson bet out 8,000. Djumic matched it and the players got to showdown.

Carlson flipped over K♠2♠, having flopped trip kings. Djumic to swiftly threw his hand into muck.

Patrico Caalim opened to 700 from middle position and his neighbour Scot Malseed called from the hijack. The button also called, taking the three players to the 3♦9♥6♠ flop.

Action was checked around to the Q♦ turn and Caalim bet 1,200. Malseed snap called, and the button folded.

The A♣ completed the board and Caalim check-raised to 4,000 after Malseed bet 2,000. Malseed mucked his hand and took a further fall in chips.

Caalim sat back with just shy of 100,000 chips, having one of the leading stacks headed towards the first break of the day.

Jonathan Bennett opened to 500 from the hijack and the cutoff called, Nickolas Oiberman three-bet to 1,200 on the button and action went back to Bennett.

Bennett four-bet to 5,500 and saw both his opponents fold.

A few hands later on the same table, Oiberman was in the hijack a pot with Zheming Zhu in the cutoff. The players were already on the Q♠8♠7♥Q♥ board and the pot stood at around 2,000.

Oiberman bet 3,500. Zhu called, taking the players to the 4♦ river.

Both players checked to showdown, Oiberman showed J♥9♥ having missed his straight draw. Zhu took the pot after showing his K♦7♦ with a pair of sevens.
