Slowdown

Despite the numerous spectators on the rail watching the heads up battle between Michael Binger and Marlon Goonawardne, there has not been much happening. The two have been playing small pots against each other, with very little chip movement to report.

Meet the Railbirds

Local player Marlon Goonawardne has the most railbirds in the room. They're all on the rail supporting him. In his corner, Michael Binger, who is from the U.S., has Roy Winston, John Murphy and his brother Nick Binger rooting him on.

Binger Takes it Down With Trips

Marlon Goonawardne and Michael Binger both limped in and saw a flop of {J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Goonawardne bet 15,000 and Binger called. The turn was the {10-Spades} and both platers checked. The river was the {6-Diamonds}. Goonawardne checked, Binger bet 30,000 and Goonawardne somewhat reluctantly called. Binger showed the {Q-Hearts}{6-Spades} for trips and took it down.

Binger Playing Small-Ball

Despite his huge chip disadvantage, Michael Binger still has quite a large stack relative to the blinds, which are at 4,000-8,000. Thus far in the heads-up match, he is playing very controlled, small-ball poker, feeling out Goodawarne and waiting for him to make a mistake.

In terms of Dan Harrington's "M" (the amount of rounds a player can fold his cards before being completely blinded out), Goodawarne boasts an M of 121, while Binger has an M of 31.5.

Steve Leonard Doubles Through Marlon Goonawardne

Steve Leonard moved all in and Marlon Goonawardne called.

Leonard: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Goonawardne: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The flop was {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Leonard flopped a monster draw, even though Marlon Goonawardne was ahead. The turn was the {9-Clubs} and the river was the {6-Diamonds}. Leonard won the pot with a flush. He doubled up and increased his stack to 180,000.

Marlon Goonawardne is still way ahead with over 1.3 million in chips.

David Kruger Eliminated in 4th Place ($41,440)

David Kruger - 4th Place
David Kruger - 4th Place
Marlon Goonawardne raised 18,000 from the button. David Kruger called. The flop was {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Both players checked. The turn was the {A-Diamonds}. Kruger checked. Marlon Goonawardne bet 20,000 and Kruger called. The river was the {Q-Clubs}. Kruger fired out 100,000. Goonawardne raised all in and Kruger called.

Kruger: {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Goonawardne: {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Marlon Goonawardne caught a runner-runner Broadway straight to bust Kruger in 4th place. He collected $41,440.

"That's so sick!" Kruger repeated over and over. He slipped an f-bomb in there a few times.

After that hand, Marlon Goonawardne increased his stack to 1,400,000. Down to three players including Michael Binger (bounty player).
