Jennifer Cassell opened to 500,000 from the hijack with K♠Q♦ and Daniel Neilson three-bet the cutoff to 1,700,000 holding K♦10♠. When it got back to Cassell, she called.
A flop of 9♦10♦4♣ saw Cassell check-call a bet of 1,000,000 from Neilson to the 2♥ turn. Again Cassell checked, and again Neilson piled on the pressure with a bet of 1,700,000. Cassell had to give it up.
Dustin Tran wasted no time, ripping in 3,500,000 from the small blind. But before the chips had even settled, Jennifer Cassell cold four-bet shoved her towering 7,000,000 stack from the big blind. Bedot, calm as ever, snap-called his 3,600,000 and suddenly, one the biggest pot of the tournament was live—with three players all-in and dreaming.
Dustin Tran: Q♣J♣
Reece Bedot: A♠A♦
Jennifer Cassell: 8♥8♣
Aces for Bedot. The Snowmen for Cassell. And Tran? Armed with paint and hoping to scribble all over their dreams.
The flop came down 5♥3♦9♦, and the tension hit a fever pitch as the rail roared. Tran got no help. Cassell picked up a glimmer with a backdoor straight draw. Then the 6♦ hit the turn—no good for Tran, who was now drawing dead. Cassell picked up a gutter, but Bedot's nut diamond held all the power.
The J♥ on the river changed nothing.
Tran was sent packing in sixth. Cassell took a hit. And Bedot? He rocketed up the leaderboard!
Reece Bedot made it 500,000 from under the gun and Johan Lees shoved 2,800,000 from the small blind. Bedot called.
Johan Lees: Q♥Q♣
Reece Bedot: A♣7♦
Lees was at risk but had the best hand, which further improved on the 7♠Q♦10♠ flop with top set. A K♣ on the turn did gave Bedot a gutshot, but the 7♥ rived filled up Lees and kept him alive.
Jennifer Cassell ripped from the small blind for 2,700,000 and Daniel Neilson called from the big blind.
Jennifer Cassell: Q♠5♠
Daniel Neilson: K♥Q♦
Cassell was in trouble and was dominated by the hand of Neilson, and looked to be heading for the rail on the 10♠A♥6♣ flop. A 6♦ on the turn brought around some chop possibilties, and the 10♦ on the river did double-pair the board, meaning both players chopped it up.
Jennifer Cassell made it 500,000 from under the gun with Q♠Q♦ and Reece Bedot defended his big blind with K♣8♠.
On tne 8♣Q♣2♠ flop, Bedot check-called a bet of 300,000 from Cassell to see the 4♠ hit the turn. Again Bedot checked, but this time he folded after Cassell fired 1,700,000.
Jennifer Cassell shoved from the small blind for 2,200,000 and Daniel Neilson had a tough decision in the big blind.
"Ahh I don't know, how much is it?" Neilson asked with a grin. Eventually, Neilson did call.
Jennifer Cassell: J♥5♣
Daniel Neilson: A♠A♥
Chuckles were heard around the table at Neilson's slowroll but Cassell's rail erupted on the 9♣Q♣2♣ flop as she picked up a flush draw. A 10♦ on the turn gave her an open-ended straight draw, but it was a case of too many outs as the 2♥ river bricked off, ending Cassell's run in 5th.
