2025 Australian Poker Open
Reece Bedot opened from early position, and Liam Murray responded with a three-bet from the button. Bedot came back with a four-bet to 460,000, which Murray called to see a flop.
The dealer spread 4♥10♥2♣, and Bedot continued the aggression with a bet of 325,000. Murray called again, and the A♠ peeled off on the turn.
Without hesitation, Bedot shoved, putting Murray to the test for his remaining 325,000.
"Sorry guys, I usually play fast, but I’m gonna need some time with this one," said Murray as he leaned back and mulled over the spot.
Minutes passed before Murray broke the silence: "You normally show... this time, I'm asking you to show."
"I’ll show," Bedot replied.
That was enough. Murray eventually let it go, tabling Q♥Q♠ as he folded. Bedot, true to his word, rolled over K♥K♣.
“You got lucky on the turn,” Bedot muttered as he scooped the pot with a grin.
Level: 21
Blinds: 20,000/40,000
Ante: 40,000
The preflop action was missed but Joshua McSwiney had his stack of around 900,000 in the middle from the button and a player in the small blind had committed his stack of around 200,000. Ehsan Amiri was under the gun and had both players at risk.
Small Blind: 9♠8♠
Joshua McSwiney: A♥K♥
Ehsan Amiri: A♣J♣
McSwiney had a great chance to bring his stack north of 2,000,000 but had a bump in the road when the 5♣J♠7♠ flop paired Amiri's jack. Neither the 5♥ turn nor 4♣ river changed the outcome of the hand, and Amiri scored a double knockout
Zac Vigar had his stack of just over 400,000 in the middle and was put at risk by Wai Au,
Zac Vigar: A♣A♠
Wai Au: 5♠5♥
Vigar had picked up the bullets at just the right time and made them count as the J♦3♠8♣4♥9♣ runout saw him double up.
Reece Bedot is sitting behind a mountain of chips—so many, in fact, he’s started building a wall.
We asked for a count and got a grin: “About eight mil, I think.” Hard to say for sure when the stack looks like it could block the flop from view.
At this rate, someone might need a passport just to get across the table.
The Reece Bedot chip balance continues to rise and the latest contributor was Zhen Chen.
Bedot opened the button to 80,000 and Chen defended the big blind to see the J♦7♠9♠ flop, where Chen check-called a bet of 60,000.
An A♠ on the turn saw Chen check-call again for 140,000 and the river brought a 9♦. Chen tapped the table for the third time and Bedot put out a bet of 365,000. Chen snap-called.
Bedot showed a flush was Q♠4♠, and Chen showed a smaller flush with 3♠2♠, losing the minimum.
