Ward Sinking

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Three players went to a nondescript flop of {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Kevin Ward bet big with 5,000 into about 6,500 from the button. One player folded, but Randall Webb called in the cutoff. When the {4-Diamonds} put a four-liner on board, Webb came out betting with 12,000.

Ward folded in short order, and he's now well below the starting stack.

Meanwhile, the tournament has reached 18 entries, meaning it's split among three tables rather than two for the first time.

Vue Blasts, Theuma Folds

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Four players saw an {a-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop and the big blind checked to Corel Theuma, who bet 4,000. The next two players folded but Xiong Vue, who had checked, came along for the {3-Spades}. That card prompted him to come out firing huge for 20,000 and Theuma called. On the {7-Hearts} river, Vue jammed the rest in right away.

Theuma got a count after a minute in the tank, and it was 23,800. After another minute or so, he tossed in his cards.

Ward Shows Blades

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

One player was freshly sat at Table 10 and instantly three-bet to 1,800 over a 600 from Kevin Ward in the hijack.

"Right away, huh?" Ward asked.

"I'll show just so you know I'm not an asshole," his opponent responded with a laugh.

Ward made it 5,600 to go, though, and that was the price for the {8-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop. The big blind checked and folded to 10,000. Ward showed {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}.

Brown Off and Running

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

One of the entries showing up a bit after the first cards were pitched is Jeremy Brown.

He recently became involved in a multi-way pot as Roger Vi bet 1,200 from the hijack after one check on {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}. David Herzog called in the cutoff on the scary board, and Brown made it 3,600 to go on the button. Both Vi and Herzog continued to the {8-Clubs} turn. They checked to Brown, who bet 6,400. Only Herzog called this time, bringing the {7-Spades} river.

Both players quickly checked and Herzog rolled over {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} but was beaten by {j-Clubs}{10-Spades} for a straight.
