Johnson Takes it on the River

Level 2 : 200/400, 0 ante
Frank Johnson
Frank Johnson

Frank Johnson limped in the cutoff before the small blind called and the big blind checked his option.

The dealer fanned a flop of {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and all three players checked through to see the {q-Clubs} on the turn.

The small blind checked before the big blind put in a bet of 600. Only Johnson made the call.

The {k-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and once checked to, Johnson dropped two chips across the line for a bet of 1,000. His opponent thought about it for brief moment and tossed his cards into the muck.

The {j-Diamonds} paired the board and Mangiarelli continued with a bet of 1,300. His opponent instantly raised to 3,000 and Mangiarelli wasted no time making the call.

His opponent tabled {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for trip jacks but was shown the bad news as Mangiarelli showed {j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for a full house.
