Mike LaMontagne Eliminated in 8th Place ($5,200); Defending Champ Brian Haughey in 7th ($6,400)

Level 19 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Mike LaMontagne - 8th Place
Mike LaMontagne - 8th Place

Mike LaMontagne moved all in for his last 95,000 from early position and Ron Scott jammed over the top for 795,000 from the cutoff. Brian Haughey, who won this event last year, then called off for 215,000 from the small blind and all three hands were turned up.

Mike LaMontagne: QQAll in
Brian Haughey: 77All in
Ron Scott: AK

Scott had a chance at a double knockout and the 5K5 flop paired his king to give him the lead. Neither the 5 turn nor 8 river changed a thing and Scott scored the double elimination.

LaMontagnge began with the shorter stack so finished in eighth place while Haughey's title defense came to an end in seventh place.

Level 19 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Linval Gentles
Linval Gentles

Adam Johnson raised to 80,000 from early position and action folded to Linval Gentles, who moved all in for 315,000 from the small blind. Johnson thought a bit before making the call and the hands were turned up.

Linval Gentles: QQAll in
Adam Johnson: A10

Gentles got it in good and held on the 9910 flop. Unfortunately for him, disaster struck when the A spiked on the turn. The 6 river was no help to Gentles and he became the first casualty of the final table.

Fishman's Pressure Pays Off

Level 18 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Jordan Fishman
Jordan Fishman

Jordan Fishman raised to 65,000 from middle position with the A10 and Brian Haughey called with the KQ. Dennis O'Hare came along with the 22 in the cutoff, Mike LaMontagne called with the Q10 in the small blind, and Steven Tabb did the same with the 67 in the big.

It was five-way action to a flop of K89 and the blinds both checked. Fishman continued for 100,000, Haughey called with top pair, and action folded back to Tabb, who called with his straight and flush draws.

On the 3 turn, Tabb checked, Fishman bet 160,000, and both his opponents called.

The A river was gin for Fishman, who made top pair. Tabb, who missed all his draws, checked and Fishman bet 240,000. Haughey opted to release and Tabb did the same to give Fishman a nice pot and push him over two million.

Johnson Hits Seven-Figure Territory While Haughey Falls Out of It

Level 18 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Linval Gentles raised to 60,000 from early position with the KQ and Brian Haughey called with the 77. Dennis O'Hare came along with the 55 before Adam Johnson thhree-bet it to 230,000 with the AJ in the cutoff.

Action folded back to Gentles, who got out of the way, before Haughey called. O'Hare folded and it was heads-up to a flop of 9A4.

Haughey check-called a bet of 120,000 and the 9 paired the board on the turn.

Haughey checked for a second time and Johnson moved all in for 350,000. That did the trick as Haughey released.

Scott Trips Up LaMontagne

Level 18 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

On one of the first hands at the final table, Mike LaMontagne raised to 65,000 from the cutoff with the AK and Ron Scott defended the big bling holding the 34.

The 233 flop hit Scott, who checked his trip threes. LaMontagne continued for 35,000, Scott called, and the 8 appeared on the turn.

Scott shifted gears and led out for 50,000, which LaMontagne called.

The A river saw Scott bet 100,000 and LaMontagne, who rivered a pair, paid it off only to discover the bad news.

Slight Delay

Due to some technical difficulties, the start of the final table has been delayed. The good news is that they seem to be sorted now and players have been asked to take their seats. Cards should be in the air shortly with the live stream kicking off 30 minutes after that.
