Chen Pumps Up The Aggression

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Event #1 Winner Huilin Chen
Event #1 Winner Huilin Chen

Action folded to bestbet Jacksonville 2021 Winter Open Event #1 winner Huilin Chen on the button and he opened to 3,000. The small blind three-bet to 11,500 and Chen called when it became his turn to do so, taking action heads up to a flop of {j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{a-Clubs}. The small blind continuation-bet 6,500 and Chen called.

The dealer spread the turn {7-Hearts} and the small blind checked over to Chen, who put all of his 5,000 chips onto the felt with some oomph, totaling 45,000. The amount was more than enough to put his opponent to a test for their remaining 36,000, and the small blind went into the tank for a full minute before deciding to let his hand go.

With the pot, Chen is now the newest player to reach 100,000 in the tournament with less than 15 minutes remaining until the dinner break.

Laieta Skyrocketing

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Christopher Laieta
Christopher Laieta

At least 20,000 went into the middle from preflop action between Christopher Laieta in middle position and Ricardo Eyzaguirre, who was on the button. Laieta checked the flop {8-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} over to Eyzaguirre, who bet 9,000, and Laieta check-raised to 27,000. Eyzaguirre called almost instantly.

Laieta continued on the turn {j-Diamonds}, shoving all in to put Eyzaguirre to a decision for his stack. Ten seconds later, Eyzaguirre's tossed his cards towards the center of the table, where they landed flush to the felt to result in the dealer shipping the pot Laieta's way.

Laieta had already chipped up well over 150,000 prior to the hand, and now finds himself over 200,000 after the won pot.

Rosenberg Scores A Knockout

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With a pile of chips already in the center, a player in the big blind shoved for their last 11,000 on a board of {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} into Michael Rosenberg, who was in the hijack and called.

All-In Player: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Michael Rosenberg: {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Rosenberg's middle pair and open-ended straight draw was ahead of his opponent's third pair and gutshot straight flush draw, but he had plenty of outs to fade. Such a task proved to be no sweat as a harmless river {2-Spades} completed the runout to earn him the pot and knockout.
